As the EHS Manager, the incumbent will develop and direct the implementation of programs to assure management takes the actions needed to raise employee awareness of risks and to reduce, avoid, and protect employees from hazards in the workplace, including occupational illness or disease, permits and programs that are required for protection of the environment. The incumbent champions the Corporate Safety Driven strategy to align the facility EHS processes. The EHS Manager also manages 2 or more EHS staff and support personnel.
What you will do
Identifies common and more complex safety/health/environmental hazards inherent in the organizations operations and establishes guidelines for protection from those hazards.
Investigates and implements new pollution control technologies through the work of EHS staff.
Prepares presentations for training and communications at the facility, BU, and Corporate level as required.
Maintains relationships with regulatory and government agency personnel.
Investigates and establishes standards for protective equipment.
Audits safety/health/environmental programs for compliance with company standards, government regulations, and adequacy relative to local conditions.
Monitors periodic performance reports for trends and conditions and alerts line management to problems.
Monitor and ensure adherence to local, state, and federal environmental and safety regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and other applicable standards.
Lead development of onboarding / on the job training (OJT) process
Lead the development of strategic medical / wellness initiatives
Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations to identify hazards and implement corrective actions for existing processes and New Capital Introduction.
Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, inspections, and compliance activities, and prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Degree Requirement
Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate scientific or engineering discipline or equivalent EHS experience is desired.

Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Policy Compliance: Knowledge of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) policies; ability to implement EHS policies to ensure that provided products and services are safe for people and the environment and in compliance with legal requirements and standards.
Top Candidates will also have
Prior supervisory experience
Professional certification (CHMM, PE, CIH, or CSP)
A strong understanding of EHS regulations
Demonstrated experience working up and down all levels of the organization
Additional Information
This position will be located onsite 5 days a week in East Peoria, IL (Building KK).
Relocation (domestic) assistance is available for this position.

Summary Pay Range:
$128,470.00 - $192,710.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
