Digital Media Strategist, Enterprise Media Platforms:

Role Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Digital Media Strategist to lead enterprise paid media strategy and manage our global advertising platforms for Caterpillar. This strategist is responsible for establishing enterprise-wide media standards, best practices, platform operations, measurement frameworks, and optimization strategies across key global media platforms including Google Ads, Microsoft (Bing), SA/DV/CM 360, paid social, programmatic, and emerging media technologies.
This individual will partner closely with business units, marketing teams, analytics teams, agencies, and platform partners to drive media effectiveness, operational excellence, and continuous optimization. The role serves as the strategic lead for enterprise paid media performance while also overseeing the day-to-day operations, troubleshooting, and administration of media platforms.
What You Will Do:
Understand business unit objectives and lead the development of enterprise digital media strategies.
Serve as the enterprise lead and SME for paid digital media strategy, platforms, and operational best practices.
Develop and maintain enterprise-wide standards, naming conventions, campaign structures, tagging requirements, audience strategies, and measurement frameworks.
Partner with agency partners to support onboarding and provide training aligned to established strategies.
Serve as a subject matter expert on digital paid media, providing guidance and best practices to internal teams and agency partners.
Collaborate with social ad platform and governance teams to define media best practices, benchmarks, keyword and audience strategies, and ongoing optimizations.
Own the operational management and administration of enterprise media platforms.
Lead troubleshooting and resolution of platform issues, campaign delivery problems, tracking discrepancies, feed issues, and operational escalations.
Monitor platform health, performance, compliance, and operational efficiency across global markets and business units.
Oversee daily operations of ad platforms to ensure agencies have access to required data connections and tools
Establish scalable processes and best practices across search, display, video, programmatic, paid social, and emerging digital media channels.
Guide business units on media planning, activation strategies, optimization opportunities, and platform capabilities.
Evaluate and recommend new media technologies, platform enhancements, automation opportunities, and AI-driven capabilities.
Provide strategic oversight and direction to media agencies to ensure alignment with enterprise standards and business objectives.
Review agency performance, media execution quality, and optimization strategies to drive accountability and continuous improvement.
Analyze campaign, platform, and portfolio performance to identify trends, insights, and opportunities for improvement.
Drive ongoing optimization initiatives across bidding strategies, audience targeting, creative performance, and channel mix.

Considerations For Top Candidates:
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business, marketing/marketing communications or digital field or equivalent working experience
Experience in digital media strategy, media operations, programmatic advertising, or paid media management.
Deep expertise with enterprise media platforms including Google Ads, Bing Ads, CM360/DV360/SA360, Meta, LinkedIn, X, etc.
Experience managing enterprise-scale paid media programs across multiple business units, brands, or global markets.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
Experience with media automation, feed management, bid strategies, audience platforms, and marketing technology ecosystems preferred.
Google Ads Platform Certification
This role is client-facing and requires strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Proven success in driving results-oriented marketing and advertising strategies, and the ability to proactively identify opportunities for improvement and optimization
B2B and B2C experience, working with large brands/complex organizations
Organization skills, able to prioritize workload and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Summary Pay Range:
$112,710.00 - $169,060.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
