Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled IT Analyst Applications (Business Analyst) to join our Applications Development & Intelligence Automation -CAT IT Division

The preference for this role is to be based out of Bangalore PSN Office, KA-India

What you will do

  • Participates in customer support processes and activities for the implementation of new or existing applications.
  • Design, prototype, code and test new or enhanced applications with guidance.
  • Monitor the efficiency and effectiveness of application operations and troubleshoot problems, as necessary.

Translate client's requirements to functional documentation, participate in technical designs and test plan with coaching and training

What you will have

  • 4–6 years of experience in business analysis supporting application development or IT projects
  • Experience working across the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Ability to gather, document, and clarify business and functional requirements
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams including developers, QA, and business stakeholders
  • Basic understanding of enterprise applications and system integrations
  • Familiarity with APIs and web services (REST/SOAP) at a high level
  • Working knowledge of databases and data concepts (tables, queries, data mapping)
  • Ability to document process flows, business workflows, and requirements
  • Exposure to reporting tools (e.g., SSRS, Power BI, or similar)
  • Experience working in Agile (Scrum) or Waterfall environments
  • Ability to create and manage user stories, acceptance criteria, and backlog items
  • Participation in UAT testing and validation with business users
  • Familiarity with release and deployment processes
  • Experience with tools like Azure DevOps, JIRA, or similar
  • Basic knowledge of Git, TFS, or other collaboration tools is a plus
  • Exposure to Azure or cloud platforms is a plus
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to support process improvement and gap analysis
  • Experience working with business stakeholders to understand needs and priorities
  • Attention to detail in documenting requirements and ensuring alignment
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Strong customer-focused mindset
  • Willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in Manufacturing or engineering-related applications is a plus
  • This position requires candidate to work a 5-day -a -week schedule in the office.
  • Shift Timing :01:00Noon -10:00PM IST

Core Application Systems: Knowledge of major production application systems used for delivery of services to internal and external clients; ability to leverage major production application systems in diverse situations.
Level Basic Understanding:
• Describes basic elements and benefits of core applications supported by own area.
• Names the organization's core application systems.
• Names major business functions and services supported by core applications.
• Locates and uses relevant documentation for core applications.

Information Capture: Knowledge of the methods, channels and processes to obtain needed information; ability to identify, capture and document relevant business information in an auditable, organized, understandable and easily retrievable manner.
Level Working Knowledge:
• Follows defined procedures to document all routine information.
• Identifies relevant established standards, policies and practices.
• Fulfills routine information capture needs in own area.
• Uses automated tools to capture, organize and archive relevant information.
• Cites examples of different types of relevant information that need to be captured.

Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
Level Basic Understanding:
• Names specific tools or techniques that can be used to support the analytical thinking process.
• Describes specific software applications or products used for business analytics.
• Gives examples of how analytical thinking has been used to resolve problems.
• Helps others research and learn more about business analytics tools and applications.

• Researches planned platforms, strategies, initiatives, and key issues related to the IT environment.
• Implements existing technology infrastructure and systems management practices of one's own IT unit.
• Analyzes the purposes and responsibilities of one's own IT department.
• Follows an organization's information management policies.

IT Standards, Procedures & Policies: Knowledge of Information Technology (IT) standards and policies; ability to utilize a variety of administrative skill sets and technical knowledge to manage organizational IT policies, standards, and procedures.
Level Working Knowledge:
• Participates in the design of organizational IT infrastructure and policies based on a business analysis.
• Assists senior colleagues in identifying critical issues in IT design processes and policies.
• Generates status reports for senior management to ensure the implementation of IT policies, standards and procedures.
• Executes IT projects or services based on predetermined IT procedures.
• Conducts performance reviews on specific technical applications or IT projects.

System and Technology Integration: Knowledge of the features and facilities of systems; ability to integrate and communicate among applications, databases and technology platforms.
Level Basic Understanding:
• Describes the basic concepts and issues of system and technology integration.
• Illustrates the risks and benefits of technology integration projects.
• Discusses major software, hardware or application integration initiatives and plans.
• Explains system integration initiatives in own environment.
