Job Summary:

As the Off Highway Truck Integration Engineer you will develop concepts, architects and integrates new products, components, or technologies.

What you will do:

• Researching and developing design parameters, performance characteristics, and technical specifications of new products and components.
• Guiding the evolution of the technical design, technical project planning, performance analysis, and development testing. Participating in supplier selection and capabilities assessment.
• Monitoring, exploring, and testing new technologies, materials, and components to understand product or process improvement opportunities.
• Constructing and fabricating prototype equipment; overseeing materials selection, process optimization and process yield, as well as reliability testing and failure analysis.
 

Degree Requirements:

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in an accredited Engineering curriculum.

Top Candidates Will Have:
• Experience with top-level machine configuration and motion
• Design experience in one or more L5 machine systems
• Familiarity with steering and/or suspension systems
• Familiarity with vehicle dynamics
• Familiarity with Off-Highway or Large Mining Trucks
• Familiarity with Teamcenter, Creo and Visview

• Makes oral presentations and writes reports needed for own work.
• Avoids technical jargon when inappropriate.
• Looks for and considers non-verbal cues from individuals and groups.

Systems Thinking:
• Monitors systems after interventions to confirm success and to diagnose new or remaining problems.
• Analyzes the dynamics of a system to determine key characteristics, properties, and functions.
• Attributes systemic problems correctly to interpersonal dynamics when appropriate.
• Escalates systemic problems that impede group performance.
• Surfaces problems within systems and searches for root causes.

The primary location for this position is Decatur, IL

Domestic relocation assistance is available

This position may require 15% travel

Summary Pay Range:

$110,520.00 - $165,840.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
