The Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. In PSLD, as within all of Caterpillar, our priority is our customers and helping them build a better world. We touch nearly every element of the services value stream from procurement to design and manufacturing to distribution. PSLD is responsible for Aftermarket Parts Distribution of Cat Parts, Integrated Logistics, segment Procurement and the design and manufacture of Wear Components (Undercarriage and GET) and Maintenance Components (Seals, Tubes & Hardware, Hose & Couplings, Fluids and Filters).
Job Summary
The Transportation Analyst develops transportation solutions to optimize the movement of parts and components throughout a manufacturing or distribution network to ensure the smooth running of operations at optimal transportation cost levels.

What You Will Do
-
Managing ocean carrier and freight forwarder performance in order to reduce lead times overall and dwell and transit times in particular; maximize reliability; and drive out waste-related cost.

Leading problem resolution efforts involving multiple process partners in order to avoid rolled bookings, shipment delays, and unnecessary costs.

Managing lean process improvement projects to reduce waste, identify and address root causes of export problems, and reduce cost.

Supporting internal overseas customers with process improvement efforts and resolution of export-related problems threatening to delay shipments to them.
What You Have

Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.

Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.

Relationship Management: Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.

Transportation - PHA : Knowledge of and experience with the means of transporting materials and goods to and from suppliers, distribution centers, manufacturing facilities and customers the manufacturing facility.

Summary Pay Range:
$95,640.00 - $143,520.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
