We have an exciting opportunity for a supply chain professional to join our Electric Power Division global team in the role of Supply Chain Manager based at our Griffin, Georgia facility. Electric Power division is committed to providing sustainable and reliable Power solutions to our customers. Our business is growing rapidly, and we require an experienced supply chain leader who has deep expertise in designing and managing supply chains. This role will be critical to the success of our Griffin Operations Facility ensuring we deliver for our customers.
You will manage a team of leaders, individual contributors and hourly team members. You will be accountable for managing supply chain planning, scheduling, inventory management, logistics planning, material cost reduction initiatives along with ensuring we have all materials available on time. This applicant will be someone who has significant job-related experience in process transformation, can manage a fast-paced environment whilst also driving process improvement and seeking opportunities to introduce new and improved methods and processes.
This person ideally has significant SAP experience with a deep understanding of Supply chain planning logic theory and can convert that theory to practice.
Responsibilities
Managing a team of Supply Chain professionals to ensure we have materials available for Start on Line.

Effectively plans and manages inventory, to meet production needs but manages surplus inventory and designs rules and guidelines to maximize inventory runs.

Maintaining communications with operations, procurement, logistics, and distribution. Creating integrated processes to streamline supply chains.

Interacting with sales, engineering, and facilities management on production schedules and expected deliverables.

Managing and directing the logistics specialists, including training, hiring, and coaching.

Establishing key performance metrics and benchmarks to guide supply chain planning and forecasting; monitoring planned vs. actual performance and presents results to senior management.

Owns the North America scheduling and capacity planning elements that support both Griffin and our integrated supply base.

Leads an portfolio of projects and initiatives to drive efficiency and compliance

Provides guidance on inventory management for a specific product group or location.

Applies systems and processes to identify and coordinate inventory requirements; resolves conflicts.

Coordinates daily work of inventory management for different locations within a facility or a supply network.

Reviews reports used for inventory management to find out related problems.
Logistics Management: Extensive knowledge of logistics and management

Manages logistics processes through process improvement, prioritization, and project planning.

Implements and maintains monitoring systems to provide information on shipment status, shipped date, in transit location, estimated arrival date, and actual delivery date.

Develops and analyzes logistics plans that affect production, distribution, and inventory.

Works with historical, legislative and practical issues associated with domestic freight.

Participates in contract negotiations and interfaces with selected carriers necessary to maintain expected levels of service.

Consults on all major logistics processes, their interactions and operational requirements.
Supplier Management - MFG: Extensive experience of processes and methods to effectively manage business relationships and transactions with suppliers of raw materials or product components

Facilitates supplier partnering arrangements that share risk and reward.

Monitors supplier performance; works to resolve discrepancies between performance and agreements.

Develops quality standards and controls for suppliers.

Builds and maintains partnerships with multiple and/or large suppliers.

Evaluates issues and terminates supplier relationships as appropriate; works with legal departments.

Ensures the fulfillment of report and record-keeping requirements.

Summary Pay Range:
$144,960.00 - $217,320.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
