The Corporate Senior Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Analyst will be responsible for corporate financial analysis, forecasting, reporting, and accounting activities related to tariffs. This individual will lead the end-to-end tariff accounting process, from forecasting to preparation of enterprise monthly and quarterly financial analysis and results communication to Senior Leadership. As a subject matter expert, the role will provide guidance and mentorship to team members and stakeholders on tariff accounting and reporting matters. Additional responsibilities include review of externally reported information, including the quarterly earnings release and elements of the 10-Q/10-K. This is a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where your work will be highly visible at all levels of the company.

What You Will Do:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Consolidate and prepare tariffs forecast, including partnering with Caterpillar’s segments and divisions
  • Consolidate and prepare tariffs monthly and quarterly financial analysis
  • Support Caterpillar accountable methodology to divisions and business units
  • Review internal and external financial communications, including the quarterly earnings
  • Effectively communicate financial results to Senior Director of FP&A
  • Drive improvements and efficiencies in financial analysis and reporting processes
  • Collaborate across a variety of groups at Caterpillar, including segment CFO teams and business unit contacts
  • Partner across the enterprise to support key projects and system implementations related to Global Finance strategy initiatives
  • Provide mentorship, direction, and subject matter expertise to team members as needed

What You Have:

  • Education and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree within Accounting, Finance, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Financial Analysis: Knowledge of tools and approaches of financial analysis; ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from financial and numerical material.
  • Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
  • Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.
  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
  • Managing Multiple Priorities: Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.
  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

Top Candidates Will Have:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.
  • Experience in a large global or publicly traded organization.
  • Manufacturing, operations finance, or cost accounting experience, including tariffs.
  • Experience developing reporting dashboards using Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools.
  • Demonstrated success driving process improvement, automation, and reporting enhancements.
  • Experience leading cross-functional finance projects and influencing business decisions.

Additional Information:

  • Domestic travel up to 5%

Summary Pay Range:

$128,470.00 - $192,710.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.

This position requires working onsite five days a week.
