Role Definition:

Leads the technical and operational support of manufacturing processes to ensure achievement of Safety, Quality, Velocity, and Cost objectives. Responsible for the stability, capability, and continuous improvement of Machining processes. Drives capital projects, operational transformation initiatives, and structured problem-solving efforts to enhance operational excellence and manufacturing performance.

What you will do:

  • Lead daily support to manufacturing operations to ensure achievement of Safety, Quality, Velocity, and Cost objectives.
  • Drive structured problem-solving efforts through root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Lead and execute capital projects from initial documentation and equipment selection through commissioning, startup, and process stabilization.
  • Manage transformation projects including facility layout changes, material flow optimization, and process redesign initiatives.
  • Ensure the implementation of manufacturing best practices, standardization, and operational excellence principles.
  • Ensure the stability, capacity, and reliability of the manufacturing processes under their responsibility.

Degree Requirement:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field required

English Advanced

Skills you will have:

Manufacturing Processes

  • An advanced knowledge of Machining Manufacturing Engineering is required.
  • Advanced understanding and knowledge on G&M code programming, types of NC controls (conversational, ISO, and others).
  • Advanced understanding and knowledge of CAM (Siemens NX is preferred)
  • Advanced experience on different Machining Center Controls (Mazatrol Matrix, Siemens 840D, Makino, Okuma, Fanuc).
  • Advanced knowledge of GD&T, print reading and 3D modeling.
  • Advanced knowledge on Touch Probe Programming (Renishaw).
  • Advanced understanding of machining processes (process design, execution and control).
  • Advanced knowledge of cutting tools selection.
  • Discusses key considerations and issues in machining processes

Lean Manufacturing

  • Application of Lean Manufacturing and Operational Excellence principles.
  • Experience implementing Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), 5S, Standard Work, and Visual Management.
  • Production layout design and optimization.
  • Waste elimination and material flow improvements.
  • Development and monitoring of productivity and efficiency metrics

Problem Solving

  • Facilitation of structured root cause analysis methodologies.
  • Experience leading investigations using 8D, A3, DMAIC, Fishbone, and 5 Whys.
  • Implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Resolution of chronic process issues and reduction of process variation.
  • Data-driven decision making and problem resolution.

Manufacturing Equipment

  • Exposure to Industry 4.0, digital manufacturing, or smart factory technologies.
  • Manufacturing experience within automotive, heavy equipment, or high‑volume production environments.
  • Advanced knowledge of APQ and NPI processes.

Decision Making and Critical Thinking

  • Ability to prioritize high-impact manufacturing initiatives.
  • Evaluation of technical, operational, and financial risks.
  • Strong analytical skills and data-driven decision making.
  • Leadership of cross-functional teams on complex projects.
  • Ability to manage multiple improvement and transformation initiatives simultaneously.

Top Candidates will have:

  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt Certification).
  • Advanced Manufacturing Process Expertise
  • Successful implementation of new production lines, manufacturing equipment, facility expansions, or major layout redesigns.


Additional Information:

  • The position is based at Santa Catarina
  • Work schedule: Monday – Saturday on site, shift rotation
  • Availability to work weekends
  • Availability to travel (10%) Nationally.
  • Domestic relocation is not available.
