Job Summary:
As a Global Sales Consultant – Retail Natural Gas you will provide commercial leadership and specialized expertise to support the growth and success of Caterpillar's Electric Power business. Working closely with regional sales teams, dealers, and customers, you will develop and implement value-based solutions that strengthen Caterpillar's competitive position and accelerate business growth. This role provides technical and commercial expertise, supports complex sales opportunities, develops capability across the dealer network, and leads strategic initiatives that advance both short-term business objectives and long-term growth priorities.
What you will do:
Serve as a global subject matter expert for retail natural gas generator sets (20-500kW), providing commercial leadership and technical guidance to regional sales teams, dealers, and customers.
Lead the development and implementation of customer-focused solutions that maximize product value, differentiate Caterpillar offerings, and drive profitable growth.
Provide consultative support on high-value and complex sales opportunities, including solution development, customer engagement, value proposition creation, and deal strategy.
Develop and deliver product, application, and value-selling training programs that enhance dealer and field team capabilities and improve commercial effectiveness.
Represent the organization at industry events, trade shows, customer meetings, and dealer conferences, serving as a recognized expert and advocate for assigned products and solutions.
Collaborate with sales and product definition teams to capture customer insights, market feedback, and emerging industry needs that influence product strategy and business priorities.
Mentor and influence commercial teams through knowledge sharing, coaching, and best-practice development while fostering a culture of continuous learning and customer focus.
What you will have:

Value Selling: Knowledge of the principles and practices for selling products, technology and services; ability to provide overall product/service 'value' and to differentiate support offerings that address clearly understood customer needs.
Top Candidates Will Also Have:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited university, preferably Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering. Equivalent professional experience will be considered.
Demonstrated experience in power generation, energy systems, electrical systems, or related industries. Gaseous-fueled power generation experience is preferred.
Experience in field, dealer, customer-facing, sales engineering, application engineering, or related technical-commercial roles.
Strong collaboration, communication, relationship-building, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively across regions, cultures, and organizations while aligning diverse stakeholders around common objectives.

The position is located in Irving, TX.
Alternative locations: Griffin, GA; Lafayette, IN; Peoria, IL
Travel up to 30% is required.
Domestic relocation assistance is offered for this position.

Summary Pay Range:
$147,760.00 - $221,640.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
