We are seeking a skilled Senior Data Specialist (Team Lead - Web app & Data Engg ) to join our Financial Systems Tech Support -CAT IT Division Bangalore Team.
The preference for this role is to be based out of Bangalore PSN Office, KA-India
What you will do
We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Lead to drive technical strategy and execution for modern, scalable web applications. This role combines hands-on development with leadership responsibilities, ensuring architectural integrity, security, and performance across the stack. The ideal candidate will lead technical initiatives, mentor team members, and collaborate with stakeholders to align technology solutions with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Architecture
- Lead engineering teams by providing technical direction, architectural guidance, and design reviews.
- Define and drive application and integration architecture aligned with scalability, security, and enterprise standards.
- Act as the technical point of contact for complex solutions involving systems, tools, platforms, and AI-enabled components.
- Support cloud adoption, modernization, and re-architecture initiatives.
Development & Code Stabilization
- Maintain strong involvement in development using Python and modern web application frameworks.
- Design, develop, and maintain web applications, backend services, and integration components.
- Own code stabilization efforts, including refactoring, performance tuning, and reduction of technical debt.
- Perform deep debugging, root cause analysis, and resolution of complex engineering issues.
- Apply optimization techniques to improve performance, scalability, and reliability.
Integration, APIs & Security
- Design and implement RESTful APIs and integration services across applications and platforms.
- Implement and guide authentication and authorization mechanisms (token-based auth, OAuth, etc.).
- Ensure reliable system-to-system integrations across internal tools, cloud services, and AI platforms.
- Work closely with data and platform teams to ensure robust end-to-end flows.
Cloud, DevOps & CI/CD
- Architect, deploy, and manage applications on AWS, leveraging appropriate cloud services.
- Drive cloud-native best practices, reliability, security, and cost optimization.
- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Git-based workflows and AWS CI/CD services.
- Lead usage of Docker and container-based deployment strategies.
- Apply DevOps practices, including automation, monitoring, logging, and deployment strategies.
AI & Emerging Technologies
- Evaluate and guide adoption of AI tools, GenAI capabilities, and emerging technologies.
- Lead proof-of-concepts (PoCs) and technical assessments for new tools, frameworks, and platforms.
- Provide recommendations on technology fit, scalability, and enterprise readiness.
Team Leadership & Mentoring
- Lead, mentor, and coach engineers to build strong technical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Conduct code reviews, design discussions, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
- Establish and enforce engineering standards, best practices, and quality guidelines.
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and engineering excellence.
What you will have
- Strong hands-on experience with Python and backend development.
- Proven experience building and supporting web applications.
- Strong experience with AWS cloud services and cloud adoption strategies.
- Expertise in system integration, APIs, and distributed architectures.
- Solid knowledge of REST APIs, authentication, and authorization mechanisms.
- Strong understanding of databases (relational and/or NoSQL).
- Experience with Git, version control strategies, and CI/CD pipelines in AWS.
- Hands-on experience with Docker and containerized applications.
- Strong DevOps knowledge and experience implementing automation practices.
- Excellent debugging, troubleshooting, and optimization skills.
- Proven ability to lead and mentor teams in enterprise environments.
- Work Timings: 01:00 Noon -10:00PM IST
- This position requires the employee to work a 5-day-a-week schedule in the office.
