The Mapleton Foundry is one of the largest in the United States, located just 20 minutes from Peoria, IL, and home to the largest core making machine in the world! Working at the foundry is hard work that demands focus and safety, quality, and commitment to helping our customers build a better world.
With over 800 employees at the foundry, we are looking for someone who can support process development projects for the continuous improvement of the safety, quality, velocity and cost of manufacturing.
Role Definition
Ensures that products being built and processes being used adhere to all standards and requirements meeting the expectations of internal and external customers.
Responsibilities
- Performing quality reviews and internal audits; evaluating data and writing reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
- Monitoring engineering processes and products for adherence to company and regulatory standards and practices; participating in quality improvement initiatives and projects.
- Analyzing statistical data and product specifications to determine standards and establish quality and reliability objectives of finished product.
- Recommending modifications to existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality.
- Conducts investigations and analyses which contribute to the development and implementation of methods, procedures and equipment that ensure quality standards for parts and prime products
Degree Requirement
Degree or equivalent experience desired
Skills you will have:
Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Working knowledge and understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.
Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Working knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
Problem Solving: Working knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
Project Management: Working knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.
Relationship Management: Working knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.
Top candidates will possess:
- Previous foundry and machining experience
- Engineering or Quality Degree highly desired
- Advanced Excel or PowerBI experience
- Capability to support a high‑visibility role with broad cross‑company exposure, direct interaction with senior leaders, and a strong platform to showcase impact.

- 1st shift day/hours are Monday- Friday 7AM -3PM

Summary Pay Range:
$112,710.00 - $169,060.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
