The Human Resources Generalist in Pontiac, Illinois provides support to a business unit across staffing, employee relations, performance management, and training. This role has a strong operational focus, with approximately 50% of responsibilities dedicated to supporting the union move coordinator function, including administration of the union job bid process. This is an excellent entry-level HR opportunity for a highly organized, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a process-driven environment. You will play a key role in ensuring accurate, compliant HR processes while supporting employees and leaders with day-to-day HR needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the union move coordinator process, including administration and execution of the union job bid process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with established procedures.

  • Maintain and manage high-volume, detail-driven HR processes, ensuring documentation and records are complete and accurate.

  • Provide HR support across staffing, employee development, performance management, and training.

  • Partner with leaders to provide guidance on employee-related matters, including employee relations and policy interpretation.

  • Support employee relations activities, including routine issue resolution, employee counseling, and exit interviewing.

  • Assist with compensation and performance management processes, ensuring consistency and adherence to policy.

  • Gather and organize HR data, supporting reporting needs and identifying trends or issues.

Required Skills

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple processes accurately.

  • Ability to work in a process-driven environment, following structured workflows and ensuring compliance.

  • Working knowledge of employee relations, including understanding and applying HR policies and procedures.

  • Working knowledge of decision making and critical thinking, with the ability to assess situations and support solutions.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with employees and leaders.

  • Working knowledge of data gathering and reporting, including maintaining accurate records and identifying trends.

  • Degree or equivalent experience desired.

  • Experience supporting union or labor environments

  • Exposure to job bidding processes, workforce movement, or scheduling coordination

  • Experience working in high-volume administrative or HR operations roles

  • Strong ability to manage multiple priorities with a high level of accuracy

  • Experience supporting structured HR processes or compliance-heavy environments

Summary Pay Range:

$89,210.00 - $133,810.00
