Job Summary:
As the Electronics Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for managing a team of electronic and software engineers to develop and deliver software and algorithms to control Caterpillar engines. Partner with various software and systems groups within Caterpillar in a team environment to select and deploy solutions to deliver production software for use on Caterpillar engines. Position also indirectly leads supporting electronic teams located in India. Position may include the management of engine software testing as well.
What You Will Do:
• Managing the engineering staff and activities with an emphasis on organizational goals achievement, professional development and continuous improvement.
• Monitoring and continuously improving product and process performance, quality and cost-effectiveness for all engineering activities and deliverables.
• Providing leadership to create and maintain processes used to design, develop and manufacture components, systems, products, services, and technologies.
• Managing engineering product and manufacturing process or quality issues, from concept through end of life-cycle.
What You Will Have:
Planning: Tactical, Strategic: Knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.
Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
Technical Excellence: Knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.
Communicating for Impact: Knowledge of the concepts, tools and techniques for effective listening and communicating; ability to apply these theories to receive, transmit and accurately interpret information and ideas to influence others in various situations.
Managing People: Knowledge of processes involved in managing people; ability to lead successful teams, and diligently address issues related to performance and conflicts at the workplace.
Influencing Through Expertise: Knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies; ability to use these to deepen own expertise and impact or challenge decisions within and outside own organization.
Education: Degree in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science curriculum.

This position will require less than 10% travel
Summary Pay Range:
$159,120.00 - $238,680.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
