About the Role:

The Distribution Center Manager manages the daily operation and execution of the SPM Distribution Center which is the central hub for inbound and outbound material flow to support SPM’s western hemisphere business and exports to SPM’s eastern hemisphere business. Activities at the distribution include: receiving, picking, kitting, packing, and shipping (domestic and international). Raw material, semi-finished material, component inventory and finished product flow through the distribution center. Shipments made from the distribution go to SPM’s manufacturing operations, SPM Service Centers, and directly to SPM’s customers.

Additional Information:

  • Location: Fort Worth, Texas
  • Travel: Up to 20%
  • This position requires 5 days onsite and oversight of multiple shifts

What Will You Do:

  • Lead an organization of (4) supervisors and over 50 warehouse associates
  • Foster a safety-first culture by demonstrating and cascading through the distribution center the principles of care, learn, and prevent
  • Monitor and achieve picking throughput targets
  • Responsible for inventory record accuracy, adherence to first in first out lot control management, and disposing of obsolete and surplus inventory
  • Acute focus of on-time delivery to fulfill customer demand
  • Collaborate and closely coordinate with operations and service centers to meet their demands and consistently deliver material to plan
  • Manage a monthly budget to achieve headcount, equipment, and operational expense targets

What Will You Have:

  • Effectiveness Measurement: Knowledge of effective measurement techniques and ability to measure the quality and quantity of work effort for the purpose of improvement.
  • Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
  • Forecasting: Knowledge of forecasting tools, approaches and practices; ability to determine product demand and estimate production requirements and load on the distribution center.
  • Supply Chain Management - MFG: Knowledge of functions, principles and techniques used in supply chain management; ability to develop and use, strategies, practices and tools for controlling the logistical processes.
  • Performance Management: Knowledge of successful performance management techniques; ability to apply organization's performance management system, practices, and tools to developing and improving individual, team, and organizational performance.

Summary Pay Range:

$147,760.00 - $221,640.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
