Job Summary:
You will have responsibility for leading the global device certification efforts for the Cat Technology Connectivity Telecom and Compliance team. The Certification Manager will engage on a regular basis with multiple external vendors and service providers, as well as internal Caterpillar organizations to deliver certifications for many different projects.
The Connectivity organization builds innovative and scalable connectivity solutions that enable seamless data flow between onboard and offboard systems - delivering exceptional customer value through unified, intuitive integration. We enable IoT connectivity via multiple technologies, including cellular, satellite, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and more. This team has enterprise accountability for the telematics product line and network strategy, rationalization, quality, and cost. Connected devices are critical enablers to our services growth strategy as well as being foundational to the deployment of effective digital solutions for our dealers and customers.
What You Will Do:
As a Certification Manager, you will own deliverables, projects, and processes for obtaining many types of certifications for all Product Link devices and other Connectivity-related hardware for Caterpillar.
- Conduct RFQs and evaluate potential suppliers for global cellular and satellite device certification needs
- Project manage activities to complete global certifications within schedule and budget, managing risks and unforeseen challenges, addressing obstacles
- Manage a large number of projects, each at various phases of project completion
- Work with many external vendors and technical authorities, as well as many internal subject matter experts and stakeholders
- Work with architecture, onboard and backoffice software, and telematics hardware technical organizations
- Gather information such as operational and technical product specifications to prepare documentation for certification purposes, answering questions from regulatory bodies, and initiating necessary testing activities
- Create and communicate status updates on a regular basis to both internal and external stakeholders
- Schedule and lead relevant project team meetings

Considerations For Top Candidates:
- B.S. degree in electrical, electronics, computer, or RF engineering
- Experience with and/or knowledge of IoT/Telematics solutions, cellular, satellite technologies
- Experience with regulatory and device certification processes, such as FCC, GCF, PTCRB, and cellular carrier certification processes
- Experience managing complex, technical projects
- Strong business acumen and problem-solving skills
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
- Knowledge of Caterpillar products, solutions and processes
Additional Details:
- This position requires the candidate to work full-time at the Mossville, IL office.

Summary Pay Range:
$112,710.00 - $169,060.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
