Job Summary:
The Supply Chain Planning Engineer plays a key role in driving smarter, more efficient supply chain decisions through data, collaboration, and continuous improvement. This role sits at the center of the supply chain, partnering across manufacturing, procurement, logistics, and business teams to ensure the right materials are in the right place at the right time—all while balancing cost, service, and risk.
In this role, you will use data‑driven insights to identify opportunities, solve complex challenges, and optimize planning strategies that improve overall supply chain performance. You’ll lead and support initiatives that enhance processes, strengthen cross‑functional alignment, and drive meaningful business impact.

What You Will Do:
- Deploy Velocity BIQ within the ICD organization utilizing a right part right time approach to illuminate velocity defects and closed loop problem solving to drive improvements.
- Analyzes supply chain data, forecasts, and capacity constraints to support planning decisions and identify risks, opportunities, and areas for optimization.
- Develops and implements integrated supply chain planning solutions that improve material flow, inventory utilization, and overall operational efficiency.
- Collaborates cross‑functionally with procurement, manufacturing, logistics, and business partners to align supply with demand and ensure continuity across the supply chain.
- Evaluates planning scenarios, trade‑offs, and operational constraints, and makes data‑driven recommendations that balance cost, service levels, and risk.
- Identifies and drives process improvements across supply chain planning activities, including standard work, system enhancements, and workflow optimization.
- Leads or supports projects focused on improving supply chain performance, including capacity planning, demand alignment, and network optimization initiatives.
- Establishes strong partnerships with internal stakeholders and external partners to support alignment, communication, and execution of supply chain strategies.
- Develops, monitors, and reports on key supply chain metrics and performance indicators to support continuous improvement and informed decision‑making.
Education requirement:
- Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree or demonstrate equivalent knowledge through extensive professional expertise.
What skills you will have:
Supply Chain Management: Applies end‑to‑end supply chain knowledge to support planning, execution, and optimization of material and information flow. Partners across procurement, manufacturing, logistics, and distribution to align demand and supply, improve service levels, and ensure efficient, cost‑effective operations across the supply chain.
Analytical Thinking: Analyzes complex data sets, forecasts, and capacity constraints to identify trends, risks, and opportunities within the supply chain. Uses data‑driven insights to support planning decisions, improve inventory strategies, and optimize supply chain performance.
Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Evaluates planning scenarios, trade‑offs, and operational constraints to make informed decisions that balance cost, service, and supply continuity. Applies structured thinking and sound judgment to solve problems and support both short‑term execution and long‑term strategy.
Process Improvement: Identifies inefficiencies and improvement opportunities within supply chain planning processes and systems. Drives continuous improvement initiatives, standard work, and process enhancements to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and improve overall supply chain performance.
Additional Information:
This position requires the candidate to work onsite five days a week at the Peoria, IL office.

Summary Pay Range:
$97,530.00 - $146,290.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
