About Power & Energy Procurement

Caterpillar’s Power & Energy Procurement organization plays a critical role in supporting all divisions within Power & Energy. Our work is geared towards our pistons of Predictable Supply Excellence, Optimized Total Cost of Ownership, Supplier Relationship Management and Lifecycle Sourcing Strategy. We continue to develop suppliers who competitively deliver operational excellence, enabling our customers to build a better world. With a strong focus on data-driven decision-making and operational efficiency, P&E Procurement leverages advanced tools and processes to connect the physical and digital supply chain, enabling business units to deliver high-performance solutions that meet evolving customers and business needs.

Job Summary:
As the Procurement Solutions Professional, you will support the execution of designing, developing, deploying, and monitoring procurement capabilities to provide business solutions that are globally effective & applicable.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead a global supply chain control tower for high‑risk, complex suppliers, proactively identifying and resolving past‑due and supply disruption risks impacting manufacturing facilities.

  • Drive end‑to‑end visibility and root‑cause analysis across suppliers, logistics, and internal planning to prevent line‑down situations and chronic shortages.

  • Own supplier recovery and performance management, including corrective action plans, escalation governance, and coordination with procurement and supplier leadership.

  • Prioritize and orchestrate facility‑impact decisions, balancing constrained supply, plant needs, and commercial commitments across regions.

  • Facilitate cross‑functional war rooms and governance, influencing stakeholders without direct authority while continuously improving control‑tower processes and readiness.

What You Will Have:
Business Process Improvement: Knowledge of business process improvement best practices and ability to use methods for identifying, evaluating, introducing and implementing more efficient approaches to performing business related activities.

Data Analytics: Knowledge of techniques and processes for inspecting, cleansing, transforming, and modeling data; ability to discover useful information, draw logical conclusions, and support decision-making.

Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

Matrix Management: Understanding of the importance of being able to leverage external resources when required and ability to build and use effective working relationships within own department and across department, functional, and geographic reporting lines.

Procurement Function: Knowledge of responsibilities, accountabilities, and organization of procurement function; ability to perform tasks and activities of the procurement functions or department.

• Travel up to 10% domestic

Summary Pay Range:

$112,710.00 - $169,060.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
