The Caterpillar Technology Autonomy and Automation team is seeking a Lean 6 Sigma black belt to lead Continuous Product Improvement (CPI) projects to resolve critical customer issues. This role will lead projects related to multiple technologies withing the Caterpillar MineStar portfolio of products. The role will play a key role in improving quality by leading managing, and supporting projects related to process and product improvements using Lean, Six Sigma and project management methodologies to achieve business goals.
What You Will Do:
- Partner cross‑functionally across the organization to lead projects to resolve critical customer issues.
- Leading and managing Six Sigma project portfolios to achieve measurable business process improvements.
- Providing technical training and guidance for Green Belt professionals on the planning, development and implementation of Six Sigma projects.
- Employing Six Sigma methodology into organizational operations to meet business goals and objectives.
What you will have:
- Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
- Interpersonal Relationships: Knowledge of the techniques and the ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner.
- Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
- Process Improvement: Understanding and insight into evaluating current product quality and production methods and ability to maintains focus on the continuous improvement of processes, products and services.
- Project Management: Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.
- Six Sigma Methodology: Knowledge of the concepts of six sigma DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control) methodology; ability to use the methodology to improve the manufacturing processes and control the improvements by eliminating root causes.
Consideration for top candidates:
- Experience with any of the Cat MineStar Solutions
- Prior product support experience with knowledge of publishing service magazines and technical bulletins
- Experience with Azure DevOps to understand the status of work items
- Experience with PowerBI to develop dashboards and find actionable insights
Additional Details:
- This position requires the candidate to work full-time at the Mossville, IL or Tucson, AZ office

Summary Pay Range:
$128,470.00 - $192,710.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
