What are we looking for?
Caterpillar seeks an experienced Senior Corporate Counsel to support business locations on labor and employment matters across Mexico.

This role supports the global Human Resources strategy for a diverse and multifaceted organization of over 100,000 full-time personnel located throughout the world. What You Will Do
- Deliver legal counsel and support of our business operations on a wide range of labor and employment matters
- Establish and maintain relationships, credibility, and trust with Human Resources and business leadership, stakeholders, and Legal Services colleagues across a global organization
- Collaborate with colleagues to provide strategic employment and labor law counsel and drive successful outcomes in complex and highly sensitive matters
- Manage disputes from claim through litigation, including the retention and direction of external counsel as necessary
- Identify and assess legal risks and new developments and advise internal business partners and leadership on development and implementation of policies and procedures
- Provide legal training based on risk assessment, strategic objectives, and legal developments
Educational Requirements:
- Qualified lawyer with unrestricted right to practice law in-house in Mexico.
- Advanced English.
What You Will Have:
Legal Function: Knowledge of the major responsibilities, accountabilities, and organization of the legal function or department; ability to provide legal consulting, advice and assistance.
Working knowledge of employment and labor law practice experience managing matters for global clients in Mexico, through a large law firm or combination of firm and private corporate settings
Demonstrated ability to interact and collaborate effectively with senior level managers and both in-house and outside counsel
Risk Management: Knowledge of processes, tools and techniques for assessing and controlling an organization's exposure to risks of various kinds; ability to apply knowledge of risk management appropriately to diverse situations.
Good business acumen and experience developing and recommending practical and strategic approaches to legal challenges facing business clients
Legal Analysis: Knowledge of methods and tools used in legal analysis; ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from both legal and factual information.
Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyse situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviours.
Excellent communication skills with a commitment to integrity, professionalism, collegiality, and keeping stakeholders appropriately informed
Managing Multiple Priorities: Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.
Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
Resource Management: Knowledge of the resources required to achieve business objectives; ability to plan, mobilize and distribute resources to fulfil business objectives and plans.

Additional Info:
- Location: Santa Catarina Facility and Santa Maria Office Nuevo Leon.
- This position is five-day a week in-office model.
- This position will require travelling 15% working time (Domestic and International).
