Caterpillar is seeking an Assembly Production Manager in Brooklyn Park, MN. The Assembly Production Manager leads front‑line manufacturing teams to safely deliver high‑quality paving products while achieving People, Quality, Velocity, and Cost (PQVC) goals. This role is responsible for daily assembly operations, employee engagement, schedule execution, and continuous improvement in a fast‑paced production environment.

· Lead, coach, and engage hourly and salaried assembly teams to achieve PQVC performance goals while fostering a strong safety‑first culture.
· Drive quality excellence with a clear focus on a zero‑defect manufacturing environment, leveraging root cause analysis and corrective actions.
· Actively identify, escalate, and mitigate safety risks, partnering with EHS to prevent incidents and improve workplace conditions.
· Develop and adjust production schedules to support velocity targets while balancing manpower, equipment, and parts availability.
Lead operational decision‑making to determine optimal build strategies while minimizing risk and controlling costs.
Partner cross‑functionally with Supply Chain, Materials, Logistics, Quality, and Engineering to drive issue resolution and continuous process improvement.
· Monitor staffing levels, overtime needs, and skill coverage; address manpower issues to maintain consistent production flow.
A successful candidate in this role will showcase their skills in:
- Performance Management: Knowledge of successful performance management techniques; ability to apply organization's performance management system, practices, and tools to developing and improving individual, team, and organizational performance.
- Planning and Organizing: Knowledge of the process of planning and arranging tasks and resources; ability to plan and organize both time and resources to get things completed while structuring and maintaining work in a systematic and highly methodical way.
- Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
- Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
Top Candidates for this position may also have:
· Proven leadership experience in assembly or manufacturing production operations.
· Strong employee engagement and team motivation capabilities.
· Working knowledge of PQVC (People, Quality, Velocity, Cost) operating frameworks.
· Ability to drive quality performance toward zero‑defect standards.
· Experience identifying and addressing safety risks in a production environment.
· Demonstrated capability to manage schedules, manpower, and production priorities.
· Strong problem‑solving skills, including the ability to think outside the box during operational constraints.

Summary Pay Range:
$89,210.00 - $133,810.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
