About the Role:

The Fleet Management Specialist role will be focused on Data Analytics, Tool Development, and Process Support for the data center Global Accounts aftersales team by helping to develop, implement, and administer critical tools in support of key work processes, fleet data management activities, and develop performance metrics to achieve successful customer outcomes. This role focuses on data-driven process improvements, connecting master datasets, creating robust performance measures, and providing ongoing administrative support across key accounts.

Working closely with cross-functional teams, you’ll enable Caterpillar and Cat Dealers to achieve higher levels of accuracy and timeliness in product problem identification and resolution, KPI development and management, and product improvement activities. 

What You Will Do:

The Fleet Support Operations Specialist will serve as a subject matter expert on master datasets by maintaining, enhancing, and developing issue management and quality & reliability and equipment tracking datasets.

Database Design

  • Knowledge of database systems; ability to establish a data model for designing an organization's database that runs effectively and efficiently for better business outcomes.

  • Development and implementation of global data center accounts Issue Management and Quality tool.

  • Support development and implementation of Commissioning Tool including dealer resource planning.

  • Research relationships between different business and operations data sets.

Data Management

  • Responsibility for maintenance of global data center accounts product population database.

  • Responsibility for maintenance of Commissioning Tool: Dealer Capacity and Capability database.

  • Ownership of Product Health Database (PHD)/Issue Tracking tool data accuracy.

  • Subject matter expert of Corporate Quality methods & tools.

  • Provide guidance and solutions to maintain data quality, cleansing, and accurate reporting.

Administrative and Operational Support

  • Provide ongoing administrative support for the various area processes, including maintaining accurate records and documentation.

  • Assist on coordinating communication with Caterpillar teams and Cat Dealers to ensure alignment and transparency in processes.

What You Will Have:

  • Analytical Thinking : knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.

  • Programming Languages : knowledge of basic concepts and capabilities of programming; ability to use tools, techniques and platforms in order to write and modify programming languages.

  • Query and Database Access Tools : knowledge of data management systems; ability to use, support and access facilities for searching, extracting and formatting data for further use.

  • User Acceptance Testing (UAT): Knowledge of UAT activities, tasks, tools and techniques; ability to design, implement and evaluate acceptance tests for end-users.

  • Collaborating: Knowledge of collaborative techniques; ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner.

Top Candidates Will Also Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related degree or equivalent working experience.

  • 3+ years in digital product management, business analysis, user experience, digital strategy, or related function.

  • Previous experience with MS PowerBI, MS Azure DevOps, Snowflake, and Microsoft Excel.

  • Highly developed interpersonal skills to deal with sensitive, emotional, or potentially controversial situations.

  • Strong accountability, planning, and organizational skills.


Additional Information:

  • This position is located in Irving, TX; Griffin, GA; or Lafayette, IN.

  • Domestic travel of 15-25% may be required.

  • Domestic relocation assistance is offered for this position.

  • This position is currently a hybrid in-office work model, requiring a 3-day weekly office presence onsite at our (location) office and remote work for the remaining days. However, work arrangements may be adjusted at any time based on business needs.

Summary Pay Range:

$87,480.00 - $131,280.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
