Job Summary:
At Caterpillar’s Denison, TX facility, we develop surface rotary drills while ensuring that we deliver a quality product to our customers. In this role as a EHS Manager, you will report to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager and will be provide leadership, mentoring and direction to hourly, salaried and management personnel engaged in Environmental, Health, and/or Safety (EHS) activities related to the Denison facility. As a member of the EHS team, you will need to have a growth mindset, promote continuous improvement, and help build a defect-free culture. What you will do:

Identifies common safety/health/environmental hazards inherent in the organization's operations and establishes guidelines for protection from those hazards.

Ensures EHS training is completed to comply with regulatory requirements or in support of facility, division, or enterprise objectives.

Audits safety/health/environmental programs for compliance with company standards, government regulations, and adequacy relative to local conditions.

Monitors periodic performance reports for trends and conditions and alerts line management to problems.

Collaborating : Knowledge of collaborative techniques; ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner.
Decision Making and Critical Thinking : Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
Interpersonal Relationships : Knowledge of the techniques and the ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner.
Overcoming Resistance to Change : Understanding and insight into the futility of refusing to accept the inevitable and ability to overcome resistance and adapt to a complex and changing environment.
Problem Solving : Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Policy Compliance : Knowledge of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) policies; ability to implement EHS policies to ensure that provided products and services are safe for people and the environment and in compliance with legal requirements and standards.
Education and experience requirement:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health and Science
-
3+ years’ experience in an EHS role
-
3+ years' experience in a Leadership role

The primary location for this position is Denison, IL
