Role Definition

  • Design welding fixtures for sub‑assemblies and complex hardware using CAD/CAE tools (SolidWorks, CATIA, AutoCAD, NX)
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes (machining, welding).
  • Apply Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) principles to ensure dimensional accuracy.
  • Develop 3D models, detailed drawings, and BOMs for fixture fabrication.
  • Incorporate ergonomics, safety, and ease of use into fixture design.
  • Createing detailed technical drawings, 3D models, and specifications.
  • Ensure designs meet production, safety, and quality standards.
  • Knowledge of materials science and selection for tooling applications
  • Generates specifications for parts or components with CAD software.
  • Reuses design components via reusable libraries following standard procedures.
  • Uses CAD to perform basic drafting such as wire frames, solid objects and array of objects.
  • Performs routine changes to computerized schematics or drawings.
  • Creates views of objects in 2 and 3 dimensions; creates perspective drawings and orthogonal views.

Degree Requirement
B.E/B.Tech-Any stream or equivalent experience desired

Skill Descriptors

Collaboration & Coordination

  • Work closely with manufacturing, production, and quality teams to identify tooling requirements.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and fabrication teams for tool manufacturing.
  • Provide technical support during tool installation and troubleshooting.

Testing & Validation

  • Oversee prototype fabrication and conduct feasibility studies.
  • Perform cost analysis and evaluate tool performance.
  • Continuously improve existing tooling solutions for efficiency.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain records of tool designs, modifications, and approvals.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards such as GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
  • Provide training or mentoring on tool usage and safety

Design Software knowledge

  • Pro_E, / Creo, AutoCAD or equivalent 3D & 2D design software.

Robotic Process Automation (RPA): Knowledge of techniques and processes of robotic process automation (RPA); ability to develop and deploy RPA solutions in various industries.
Level Basic Understanding:
• Describes the concepts, features and benefits of RPA.
• Lists examples of RPA application in various industries, e.g., retail, banking, and healthcare.
• Lists methods and tools that are used to develop and deploy RPA.
• Discusses main considerations and issues regarding RPA.

This position requires working onsite five days a week.
