As a Pricing Consultant, you will play a key role in shaping and executing dynamic, value-based pricing strategies that drive revenue growth and profitability.

In this role, you will partner closely with product, financial, and industry teams to analyze complex data, develop strategic pricing recommendations, and influence critical business decisions. You will combine strong analytical expertise with business acumen to deliver insights that optimize pricing performance and enhance customer value.

What You Will Do

  • Analyze, interpret, and communicate complex datasets, including:
    • Market and competitive trends
    • Revenue and profitability performance
    • Historical and forecasted sales, pricing, and discounts
  • Develop and recommend value-based pricing strategies for new and existing products and services
  • Provide thought leadership to cross-functional stakeholders on pricing strategy and positioning
  • Translate data insights into clear, actionable business recommendations that maximize revenue and profitability
  • Execute pricing actions within a defined governance framework, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards
  • Collaborate with product, finance, and industry teams to align pricing strategies with broader business objectives
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve pricing processes, tools, and performance

What You Have

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, statistics, marketing, or a related field
  • Proven ability to lead and influence pricing or commercial analytics initiatives, applying advanced data analysis and business acumen to drive revenue and profitability outcomes.

Analytical & Technical Skills

  • Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to synthesize large datasets into actionable insights
  • Experience with data analysis tools and techniques
  • Proficiency in:
    • Excel and Power BI
    • SQL (strongly preferred)
  • Experience leveraging data visualization tools to communicate insights effectively

Business & Leadership Capabilities

  • Strong understanding of value-based pricing principles and customer impact
  • Demonstrated ability to influence decisions through data-driven insights
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to present complex ideas to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong decision-making and critical thinking skills
  • Proven ability to manage and build relationships across cross-functional teams

Execution & Collaboration

  • Experience working within structured processes or governance frameworks
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities

What Will Set You Apart

  • Prior experience as a Pricing Analyst or in a pricing-focused role
  • Background in commercial analytics, finance, or revenue management
  • Familiarity with Caterpillar products, aftermarket engines, or merchandising programs
  • Experience using Power BI and SQL to drive business insights
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver measurable results and drive business impact
  • Strong initiative, adaptability, and a results-oriented mindset

  • Work Location: This role is based in Peoria, IL
  • Work Arrangement: This position requires onsite presence five days per week

Summary Pay Range:

$97,530.00 - $146,290.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
