As a Pricing Consultant, you will provide revenue support work for Construction Industries products (machines). Specifically, as a P&L sales variance ambassador, you will work closely with MBD business resources to forecast and analyze sales variance results and develop reporting tools to support monthly business reviews with management.


What You Will Do:

  • Work closely within the Global Machine Pricing (GMP) organization with merchandising and product pricing teams to collect, summarize, evaluate, and communicate monthly P&L Marketing Sales Variance (SV) forecast detail.
  • Maintain data models used to aggregate forecast input and summarize detailed explanations for monthly changes. Provide consistent views of the detail that can be used to further evaluate proposed changes and scenario views.
  • Communicate updates for forecast data and root causes to a wide variety of stakeholders.
  • Leading projects within the GMP groups focused on Machine price realization process improvements.
  • Educate and coach MBD BR teams on P&L sales variance drivers and net price realization analysis.
  • Analyze sales history, volume forecast, gaps to target.
  • Confront unique and complex issues or problems on a regular basis, which require careful analysis, diagnosis, innovative solutions and proper handoff to responsible internal partner that can address non-pricing related root causes

What You Have:

  • Data Gathering & Analysis: Knowledge of data gathering and analysis tools, techniques, and processes; ability to collect and synthesize data from a variety of stakeholders and sources in an objective manner to reach a conclusion, goal, or judgment.
  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
  • Relationship Management: Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with business partners and peers.
  • Customer Focus: Knowledge of the values and practices that align customer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in all business decisions and ability to leverage that information in creating customized customer solutions.

What Will Set You Apart:

  • Bachelor’s degree concentrated in business administration, finance, economics, statistics, accounting or related fields.
  • 5+ years job related experience
  • PowerPoint, PowerBI, and Excel proficiency
  • Knowledge of Caterpillar products, Cat Financial products, CVA, merchandising programs and/or relevant business systems

Additional Information:

  • This position will be located in our Peoria, Irving, Cary, or Tucson offices
  • Domestic travel may be up to 10%

Summary Pay Range:

$112,710.00 - $169,060.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
