At Caterpillar, you’ll help shape the pricing and contract strategies that power our growing services business. As a Senior Business Development Consultant for Job Site Solutions (JSS), you will operate at the intersection of process development, strategy, and cross‑functional leadership. This role provides the opportunity to influence commercial decisions, guide internal support teams, and ensure JSS offerings are positioned for long‑term stability and profitability. You’ll work directly with senior leaders, drive high‑impact improvement initiatives, and help evolve the business process capabilities that underpin the JSS business model. This role will be highly influential within JSS and will be a trusted resource for both internal and external teams.

What You Will Do / Strategic Ownership Areas:
Lead automation and expansion initiatives within the JSS Business Process Support team to support emerging commercial growth areas and new country expansion efforts.
Lead and execute complex projects to improve the capability and capacity of the entrepreneurial JSS business.
Serve as the central owner for Mining RFP activities, ensuring alignment and competitive positioning.
Provide financial oversight of the growing JSS leased equipment portfolio.
Own business continuity processes for critical pricing, contracting, invoicing, and purchasing activities.
Mentor internal partners and contribute to building organizational capability.
What Skills You Will Have:
Customer Focus Apply deep understanding of customer needs, value drivers, and buying behavior to shape pricing strategies and support long‑term customer relationships.
Decision Making & Critical Thinking Evaluate complex scenarios, assumptions, and trade‑offs to guide new country decisions using structured frameworks.
Effective Communication Communicate complex pricing insights clearly and persuasively to senior leaders and cross‑functional partners.
Relationship Management Ability to build strong partnerships across product, finance, sales, legal, tax, and industry teams to support strategic alignment.
Top Candidates Will Have:
Degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, or a related technical field.
Strong Interpersonal Skills – You build relationships with ease and are comfortable engaging with Caterpillar, Cat Dealer, and Customer leadership, as well as cross-functional teams.
Demonstrated business acumen with the ability to operate effectively in ambiguous environments.
Caterpillar or Cat Dealer commercial experience and familiarity with core Cat business processes (pricing, contracts, enterprise policies, etc.).
Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to influence senior leaders and drive strategic outcomes.
Proven ability to lead cross‑functional initiatives involving Tax, Legal, Finance, and Commercial teams.
Background in strategy, financial analysis, or commercial decision support.

Primary work location: Peoria, IL (on‑site full time at a Caterpillar facility)

Summary Pay Range:
$147,760.00 - $221,640.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
