Caterpillar is seeking a Demand and Orders Manager in the Earth moving Division. In this role, you will lead the team accountable for managing and stabilizing supply and demand within facilities reporting up through a business division. This position ensures that material is available and flows according to the production schedule and develops the constrained S&OP forecast, aligning tactics with the long-term product capacity.

What you can look forward to in this role:

  • Guides the development of the master production plan to accommodate customer demand within practical production capabilities and analyzes and integrates information about internal and external employment stability and efficient manufacturing and appropriate inventory levels to achieve objectives.
  • Monitors and ensures production meets schedule dates and customer requirements.
  • Supports the development of availability and inventory strategies that satisfy requirements for the Rolling Business Planning (RBM) shipment forecast and reconciles fluctuating demand and the need for factory stability while minimizing inventory investment. 
  • Collaborate with facility supply chain planning, operations and engineering personnel in support of the new product introduction process, ensuring process conformance and plays a key role in the facility to manage the phase in/phaseout schedule plans for New Product Introduction.
  • Collaborates with multiple teams to stock Product Distribution Centers with material according to the product lane strategy.  Leads the development of the master production plan to accommodate customer demand within practical production capabilities and analyzes and integrates information about efficient manufacturing and appropriate inventory levels to achieve objectives.

A successful candidate in this role will showcase their skills in:

  • Planning: Tactical, Strategic: Knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.
  • Planning and Organizing: Knowledge of the process of planning and arranging tasks and resources; ability to plan and organize both time and resources to get things completed while structuring and maintaining work in a systematic and highly methodical way.
  • Supply Chain Management: Knowledge of functions, principles and techniques used in supply chain management; ability to develop and implement strategies, practices and tools for controlling the whole processes.

Top Candidates for this position may also have:

  • Extensive experience in plant scheduling, forecasting and demand planning via supply chain functions or project management responsibilities.
  • Previous leadership experience with the ability to foster a team environment by demonstrating excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills.
  • Experience using common scheduling, forecasting, and demand planning tools (SAP, IBP, BIC)

Additional Information:

The primary location for this position is at an EMD facility.

Summary Pay Range:

$144,960.00 - $217,320.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
