The Marketing Strategy Manager will be instrumental in strategically positioning our products and services for success.

The Marketing Strategy Manager will contribute to the development and execution of marketing plans for all Oil & Gas segments with a focus on prioritizing efforts around strategic growth opportunities. Leveraging critical thinking and team leadership skills, the Marketing Strategy Manager will guide communication planning rooted in customer insights, exhibit sound creative judgment and drive go-to-market innovation. The role will require strong leadership and project management skills to lead the development of integrated campaigns and plans that can include activities such as ABM, digital marketing, content creation, CRM, trade shows, advertising, social campaign, enablement and press releases.

The Marketing Strategy Manager will lead a team of Marketing Specialists responsible for building relationships and serving as the marketing liaisons with product and sales leaders across the division to understand their business needs and objectives. This role will become an expert in understanding the customer journey and develop clear strategies to support our various customer types across each journey. This team will translate business objectives into division-wide marketing strategies and ultimately actionable and measurable marketing campaigns while working in conjunction with various marketing channel subject matter experts to build integrated marketing plans across channels.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and execute a detailed annual marketing plan to support business plans for all segments within the Oil & Gas Division

  • Develop, implement, and oversee omni channel marketing & communications strategy, media & communication plans, timelines, and budgets for Caterpillar Oil & Gas division to deliver on the company's vision, business strategy and values.

  • Help ideate, build, and execute marketing programs & campaigns that support acquisition, retention and growth objectives.

  • Create, maintain, and conduct analytics reporting across multiple platforms and extract key insights for future campaign development and go-to-market strategies, complete with formal proposals and recommendations on tactics

  • Ensure alignment of all strategies, tactical programs, communications, and activities across marketing channels and teams

  • Identify targeted audiences and channels. Develop, coordinate, and implement targeted content through external communications channels and materials to position Caterpillar as the partner of choice for key industry players and end-customers, encourage partnerships to increase circularity, and establish coherent messaging and brand equity.

  • Ensure sound communication across appropriate trade media in line with the overall communications strategy to extend Caterpillar’s visibility.

  • Support the go-to-market strategy for innovations (products, processes, solutions) by highlighting the unique value proposition and position Caterpillar Oil & Gas as a solution provider.

  • Create promotional activities using events, fairs, online campaigns, print media, and other communication vehicles to promote products, services and systems. Measure, review and evaluate results of activities continually.

  • Build and manage relationships with key specialized media to secure and grow media coverage online and offline globally.  Position Caterpillar Oil & Gas as a thought leader with a reputation for delivering real, tangible customer value.

  • Cooperate closely with the corporate MarCom team, utilize internal marketing and communications specialists for specific tasks and act as main global point of contact.

  • Ensure effective cascade across the organization through close collaboration with the business, international dealerships, and Caterpillar’s key customers

  • Attract, lead, manage and mentor employees in a way that ensures retention, development and superior performance

  • Provide support and direction to the broader marketing team through mindful planning, production and execution of marketing programs and collaborations, including but not limited to: establishing strategy and objectives, writing creative briefs, overseeing budgets, managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders including global marketing, product, and sales teams.

  • Build strong relationship and lead cross-discipline teams to ensure flawless execution of tactics

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business or similar discipline

  • Minimum of seven years’ experience in marketing, preferably in high-velocity B2B environment.

  • Working knowledge of print, e-communications production, social media strategy and management.

  • Strong computer and technology skills, must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Proven experience leading a team of marketing professionals

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to deliver on time and on plan.

  • High level of curiosity and investigative mindset with attention to detail

  • Passion for collaboration and ability to work with and align multiple stakeholders

  • Ability to communicate information effectively with team members and others in work group, as well as employees in other units, and customers.

  • Ability to take initiative and drive creative ideas forward.

  • Ability to thrive and adapt in a high growth, rapidly changing environment

  • A sense of urgency balanced with a strong commitment to quality

  • The ability to work/lead multiple projects simultaneously and to make sound priority decisions

Top Candidates Will Also Have:

  • Demonstrate record of accomplishment in the development and execution of marketing communications

  • Additional experience in B2B global environment working with complex brands/strategies

  • Ability to convert consumer insights and technical information into customer value and innovative marketing programs that deliver.

  • Oil and Gas industry experience

Travel:

  • Up to 15%
