Resource Industries (RI) offers a wide array of products and services tailored for mining, heaving construction, quarry and aggregates and material handling, including advanced technology like fleet management, equipment management analytics and autonomous machine capabilities. RI also focuses on advanced component development and manufacturing, engineering services and technology, strategic procurement, machine S&OP processes, and Lean process excellence.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a dynamic and driven Aftermarket Solutions Representative to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for driving services growth for Resource Industries (RI) by delivering the parts “Sales to Users” business plan. You will also focus on growing POPS and achieving RI's key targets to capture lost opportunities.

This role requires acute customer focus at mine site level and strong proximity and coverage (along with dealer) via implementation of key initiatives and projects designed to deliver added value and enhanced customer experience

Duties and responsibilities:

  • The Aftermarket Service Rep will cover West Africa territories.

  • Accountable for achieving the Sales to Users (STU) business plan and growing Caterpillar parts market participation in the designated territory and with the designated dealer.

  • Accountable for executing key aftermarket initiatives with business partners for designated dealer. (i.e., CVA contracts, demand planning, Prioritized Service Events, connectivity)

  • Develop and manage merchandizing programs and related budget with designated dealer to generate incremental growth.

  • Develop and manage commercial strategies and tactics with designated dealer to drive the aftermarket mining business and generate incremental growth.

  • Develop and maintain effective internal partner relationships and relationships with the prime team, account managers, dealers, and customers to achieve parts sales growth.

  • Required to travel up to 50% of the time to visit dealers and customers to gain more insights into the business and to provide counselling and advice on their aftermarket business.

  • Supporting the business with the Customer Strategic Approach (CSA) by taking responsibility for an identified customer as the Primary Point of Contact (PPOC)

Skills you will have:

Customer Focus: Knowledge of the values and practices that align customer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in all business decisions and ability to leverage that information in creating customized customer solutions.
Negotiating: Knowledge of successful negotiation concepts and techniques; ability to negotiate successfully across the organization and with external vendors and clients in a constructive and collaborative manner.

Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of the organization's industry group, trends, directions, major issues, regulatory considerations, and trendsetters; ability to apply industry knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.
Business Development: Knowledge of business development tools, techniques and approaches; ability to explore and develop potential areas of business growth for the organization.

What will put you forward:

  • A completed 3-year qualification such as a bachelor’s degree in related field will be advantageous.

  • Must have mining industry experience and knowledge, aftermarket experience in the mining industry will be advantageous.

  • 3 – 5 years prior experience in field assignments and should have demonstrated the ability to work independently and to communicate effectively with others in the work group, dealer personnel and customers.

  • Prior experience in project management, sales & marketing would be advantageous.

  • Ability to work on increasingly more complex assignments and provide direction to other team members within Resource Industries

  • Must be fluent in English & French.
