EHS Specialist
Lafayette, IN or Mossville, IL or East Peoria, IL or Pontiac, IL or Griffin, GA
Role Definition
To serve as an individual contributor on Environmental, Health and/or Safety (EHS) projects and assignments that support and enhance Caterpillar facility performance and compliance.
What you will do:
• Identifies common safety/health/environmental hazards inherent in the organization's operations and establishes guidelines for protection from those hazards.
• Ensures EHS training is completed to comply with regulatory requirements or in support of facility, division, or enterprise objectives.
• Audits safety/health/environmental programs for compliance with company standards, government regulations, and adequacy relative to local conditions.
• Monitors periodic performance reports for trends and conditions and alerts line management to problems.
Education:
- 4 year College or University degree.
- EHS related field is desired and Technical majors are acceptable.
Top Candidates will also have:
- EHS related certifications.
- Manufacturing experience.

Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Extensive Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
Interpersonal Relationships: Working Knowledge of the techniques and the ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner.
Overcoming Resistance to Change: Working Understanding and insight into the futility of refusing to accept the inevitable and ability to overcome resistance and adapt to a complex and changing environment.
Problem Solving: Working Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Policy Compliance: Extensive Knowledge of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) policies; ability to implement EHS policies to ensure that provided products and services are safe for people and the environment and in compliance with legal requirements and standards.

- Travel up to 50% is possible
