Job Description:

Caterpillar products help create the infrastructure, power and products that motivate the global economy. You have the opportunity to join the Load and Haul Products Team where you will serve as an advisor and company expert in engineering where decisions and recommendations are recognized as authoritative and that have an important impact on extensive engineering activities. You will need to have a growth mindset, promote continuous improvement, and help build a defect-free culture. What you will do:

  • Communicate technology to customers, other team members, suppliers, and other business units.

  • Perform needs analysis and initiate ideas.

  • Collaborate with, consult to and support other engineers, managers, marketing personnel, customers and suppliers globally.

  • Proactively concept, design, evaluate and promote new products, processes, technologies and techniques.

  • Represent the company externally.

  • Technical leadership skills and ability to concept and sell ideas is paramount at this level.

  • Remain up to date on technology and apply that technology as well.

  • Technical skill development will focus on technology time/cost analysis, failure analysis and problem solving, and development of acceptance criteria.

  • Consider the impacts and nature of their technologies within the scope of a global business.

  • Build relationships with other technical personnel, both in and out of Caterpillar.

What you will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited engineering school

  • 15+ years of progressive engineering experience

  • 5+ years’ experience with Large Wheel Loader

Top Candidates will also have:

  • PE (Professional Engineer) certification

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Proven track record of superior collaboration skills

Additional Information:

The primary location for this position is Mossville or Decatur, IL

Domestic relocation assistance is available

This position may require 15% travel
