The Environmental Sustainability Manager/EHS Manager will play a key role in developing, implementing, supporting, and monitoring green and sustainability initiatives across the Lafayette Engine Center in Lafayette, IN. This position will be responsible for environmental compliance and leading Operational Sustainability initiatives.

Job Duties

• Drive initiatives to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, including Renewables; Hydrogen; Batteries/energy

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement processes and technologies that support the organization’s sustainability goals and targets for greenhouse gas reduction, water conservation and waste reduction

• Lead facility environmental activities, including audits, permitting, Title V air permit, projects and required regulatory reporting

• Review new products, equipment, and processes for potential risks and recommend modifications before introduction

• Responsibility for Class D Wastewater Pretreatment plant and quality of all facility effluents

• Responsibility for all recycling and reclamation activities

• Responsibility for all Stormwater monitoring and reporting

• Organize and lead an on-site hazmat response team

• Assure compliance with organization and government environmental & sustainability standards.

• Perform environmental sustainability audits

• Maintain facility SDS database

• Perform external audits of waste haulers and treatment facilities

• Support facility environmental sustainability culture strategy/initiatives

• Generate and/or review reports for environmental (IDEM/EPA) and other regulatory agencies

• Reporting to this position are various support personnel

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in a related field OR 5+ Years of EHS Experience

Top Candidates will also have

• Minimum 2 years’ experience managing Environmental Sustainability Programs

• Knowledge of Environmental Sustainability standards and best practices

• Strong knowledge of regulations and standards including but not limited to EPA, OSHA, EPCRA, and TSCA

• Knowledge of manufacturing, including experience with environmental, quality, safety, and Lean or Six Sigma principles

• Experience with Title V Air Permit

• Experience with Hazardous Waste profiling, recordkeeping, and reporting

• Experience with Tier II and TRI Reporting

• Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management & planning skills

• Ability to work with and influence peers and management

• Experience working with wastewater treatment methods

• Self-starter with strong technical leadership skills

• Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation & reasoning)

• Proficient in Microsoft Office 0365 suite and tools
