About The Position
As an Economist, you are responsible to assume general sales forecast and business analysis responsibility for Parts and Services. Produces economic & industry reports and studies, supplies short- and long-term parts sales forecasts, assesses event risks, provides forecasts for exchange rates and produces other studies as necessary.
Primary Responsibilities (but not limited to)

Responsible for creating and maintaining periodic short- and long-term parts forecasts.

Produces regular, comprehensive economic, industry and market segment studies and other studies and reports as necessary and makes presentations to senior management, regional managers, marketing managers, district managers, dealers and other business units.

Responsible for tracking and maintaining high levels of work quality and high levels of customer satisfaction with respect to the assigned accounts and projects.

Provides leadership for the development of proprietary business economics advisory services, including proprietary techniques for modeling and forecasting machine and parts sales across geographic regions, major product groups and industry segments.

Develops and applies advanced applied statistical techniques (econometrics, ARIMA, turning point analysis) to model and forecast parts orders and sales for Caterpillar divisions and across regions, subregions, product groups and major market segments.

Actively learns and is able to apply the latest knowledge on forecasting and statistical analysis methodologies.

Effectively presents and explains complicated economic concepts and common types of business conditions to business partners. Summarizes key economic developments for business partners.

Coordinates major studies and projects in conjunction with other divisions.
Required Skills and Experience
-
Requires a professional with several years of experience in modeling and evaluating business trends, cycles, economic conditions; and conducting sales forecasts.

The incumbent would possess a M.A. degree in Economics with 3-4 years of related experience, or a Ph.D. in Economics.

Excellent communication skills.
