Job Summary: 

The purpose of this position is to provide technical manufacturing support related to the production of Caterpillar Diesel Engines. Manufacturing Specialists report to the Operations Supervisor and will be assigned to departments within the business to meet customer and company demands. Work is performed in a fast-paced manufacturing and production environment. Work requires possible exposure to all temperature changes, high noise levels, working around moving equipment, electrical hazards, tanks, heights, fumes, chemicals, vibrations, dust, etc. 

What you will do: 

  • Set up, adjust, troubleshoot, and operate machine tooling and many specialized or advanced variation tools to perform precision machining operations 

  • Deliver and pickup machine tools on transfer cart

  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings and schematic diagrams

  • Create and maintain standard operating procedures and area specific work instructions

  • Submit and assist with the resolution of C.P.S. Continuous Improvement cards

  • Maintain records related to inventory and track through WX system

  • Dispositioning of all tools being sent out for regrind/repair as well as tools being received

  • Maintain a safe and clean workstation

  • All other duties as assigned 
     

What you will have: 

  • Experience with manufacturing and machining processes 

  • Experience with mechanical products and components

  • Basic knowledge of technical requirements such as tolerance and fit

  • Experience working with hand tools 

What would make you a top candidate: 

  • Experience reading engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, blueprints & training on GD&T 

  • Experience with milling machine tooling

  • High School Diploma or GED Degree

  • Monday - Friday 10:00pm - 6:30AM

  • Payrate starting at $18/hr plus shift premium

  • 40-hour work weeks with potential for overtime
