The Medium Tractor Product Group Life Cycle Manager (LCM) is accountable for ensuring competitive solutions are offered and maintained over the life of the equipment. This requires close collaboration and continual contribution to New Product Introduction (NPI) programs, influencing product design decisions which help deliver future profitable service growth. The LCM works closely with CISD and Parts Component Groups to develop and support services growth strategies which deliver maximum value to customers, dealers and Caterpillar. As products age, the LCM engages business partners to evaluate market opportunity, understand customers’ changing needs, develop new growth strategies and tactics, introduce new repair options, advocate for inventory level changes and measure the results from actions taken.
Job Duties:

Champion the parts business for the product group and supporting organizations by providing aftermarket education and strategy leadership

Develop strategies for NPI seeding, inventory management, cost reduction, repair options and machine feature upgrades to support customers and grow the parts and services portfolio

Work across a matrix organization with all process partners to ensure the critical aspects of the parts life cycle (creation through end of life) are managed and parts challenges are addressed at the product group level

Contribute to Parts Business Teams across the organization, helping align Medium Tractors to enterprise initiatives

Work with LCM peers in other Product Groups to benchmark and establish best-in-class processes and solutions
Basic Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of job-related, professional experience
-
Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in the areas of product development, product support, product sourcing, logistics, or marketing

Flexibility to work with global teams and leaders, specifically to accommodate meetings within various time zones

Excellent interpersonal skills to lead teams and build productive working relationships with all business partners

Project management experience demonstrating independent leadership of complex projects
Top Candidates Will Also Have:

Broad company knowledge with multiple functional areas including: NPI, CPI, 6-Sigma, product engineering, product support, parts product background or field experience

Prior full-time experience with NPI process execution or product development

Strong product applications, dealer network experience, and parts background

Excellent written and verbal communication

Thorough knowledge of company products (machine/components), product applications, dealer network, and services growth strategies
This position is based in the Peoria, IL area.
