As a Project Controls Planner, you will be responsible for working with PMO personnel and customer teams to provide technical support services to facilitate and develop comprehensive project schedules and high-level reports. This position also collaborates regularly with corporate information technology staff that are responsible for project management software administration.
Job Duties/Responsibilities may Include, but are not limited to:

Creates accurate and detailed schedules for small projects and or sections of larger projects based on template utilization. The incumbent will capture all information, interpret, and identify relationships between activities, analyze data from schedule updates, work with project team members to resolve logic errors, explain changes due to updates, and recommend actions to resolve schedule problems.

Maintains templates and database structure under direction of the supervisor.

Maintains and administers database security and licensing practices at the local worksite with some direction from the supervisor.

Creates report packages and communicates or posts program status may also include maintenance of a project web site.

Co-administration of Microsoft Project Online, Project Web Application (PWA) and SharePoint for North American projects

Proactively ensure integrity, accuracy and completeness of business data used for project health cost reporting

Responsible for completing SharePoint audits and other project information management duties using other O365 tools.

Direct contact with business leaders and, global GIS personnel and other functional leaders as required

Collect and interpret business requirements communicating to development team

Proficient in Project Online and cofacilitate the North American timeline review meetings including all follow-up activities. Act as backup for primary facilitator.

Develop tool and process training documentation and conduct training to small groups

Full support and active participation in the S&OP reporting process including collection and presentation of materials
Required Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s or Associate Degree and 1-2 years of job-related experience.

Broad background knowledge of project management methodologies and techniques
-
Excellent communication skills, good typing skills, good interpersonal, effective teaming experience, computer competency, and an attention to detail.

Understanding of the Caterpillar organization and its business processes

Project planning in Microsoft Project Professional and Project Online
