Caterpillar is looking for a strategy business manager to join our Enterprise Strategy Operating and Execution Model (O&E) team in support of the governance and execution of Caterpillar’s enterprise strategy and services growth initiatives.  This work is vital to how we govern and execute the O&E model strategy across the enterprise partnering with segment and business divisions teams.  In this role, you will lead a small team responsible for enterprise governance, development and tracking of OPACC Improvement Agendas (OIAs), lead the annual challenged business review process, annually support numerous Executive Office and Group President O&E reviews for multiple segments and other ad hoc topics, including services growth reviews, as well as provide overall O&E model governance through ownership of O&E model training and website.  You will set and execute an insights-driven vision for your team with the opportunity to gain an enterprise perspective while also collaborating with a variety of Caterpillar divisions.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include by are not limited to: 

  • Provide forward-thinking leadership to a small team creating an insights-driven vision in support of O&E strategy governance and execution.
  • Responsible for enterprise governance, development and tracking of OPACC Improvement Agendas (OIAs), as well as lead the annual challenged business review process.
  • Annual coordination, governance and support of numerous Executive Office and Group President O&E reviews for multiple segments and other ad hoc topics, including services growth reviews.
  • Overall O&E model governance through ownership of O&E model training and website.
  • This role will partner with a variety of functional areas across the organization and will present insights and ideas to ESD and Caterpillar’s senior management.
  • Question status quo through industry insights to support a long-term strategic growth mindset.
  • Assist/lead ad hoc projects throughout ESD and Caterpillar Business Units.
  • Coach and mentor team members and create a team first, high-performing environment.

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE: 

Required Qualifications

Requires a bachelor’s degree in an Accounting or Finance related discipline with 8-10 years of experience with progressively increasing responsibilities.  Must be analytical and can demonstrate a high-level of business acumen. Requires a strong desire to continually learn and build knowledge base through business collaboration.  Effectively communicates to all levels of the organization.  Ability to deal with conflict, take enterprise point of view, and manage multiple tasks at the same time.
