At Caterpillar, the Workday Reporting and Security Architect guides the strategy, development, build, and update of Workday reports, dashboards, and worklets and is responsible for governing the overall security architecture across the platform. The Reporting and Security Architect is the technology subject matter expert determining how we leverage Workday’s reporting and security solutions to meet Caterpillar’s business objectives. They translate those solutions into requirements, build plans for implementation, and work with Workday Architects across the product offering to appropriately release enhancements. This Reporting and Security Architect must be able to lead and influence in a global, matrixed organization, drive execution, and effectively manage a diverse group of internal stakeholders around the globe.
The Reporting and Security Architect will provide values-based leadership to a team of Reporting and Security Analysts. Primary responsibilities of the Reporting and Security team include:
Designing, building, testing, and implementing Workday reports and dashboards, leveraging advanced reporting tools when needed, in partnership with Workday Functional Area Architects
Educating end-users to facilitate the best use of reporting tools and applications
Performing reporting audits to ensure accuracy, compliance, and an optimal user experience
Providing direction and guidance on security design and controls to members of the Workday Product Support Team on security configuration across all functional areas
Managing Workday security role configuration and assignment and maintaining business process security policies
Identifying and mitigating security design risks and partnering with the Internal Audit and IT Controls groups to ensure Workday role assignments and processes meet internal control requirements
Testing controls and designing solutions to address audit findings and/or recommendations
Troubleshooting reporting and security issues by identifying and resolving problems at the root causes
Consulting on system implementation and business integration projects
A 4-year degree in a business or IT related field
3 years of professional leadership experience
2 years of managing Workday Security and/or Reporting
Excellent written and verbal communication skills

A willingness to obtain Workday certification
The ability to understand HR strategic intent and develop solutions that align with the strategic direction
Strong analytic and diagnostic skills as well as a data-driven solutioning approach
The ability to influence and work effectively with business partners globally
Success working within a large matrix organization across functions and with senior leaders in the organization
Strong planning and organizational skills
Ability to work under pressure on multiple projects with minimal supervision and within multiple time constraints.
