Job Description

As a Sales Support Consultant, you will provide global sales support to the regional MineStar solutions sales teams and support the current Terrain NPI projects that are currently in process or ready to be launched. This role will be focused heavily on the continuous product improvement for the Terrain product line including commercial support of the Terrain product, analysis of key and tactical sales deals within the regions, and the ability to sell and develop the Terrain product strategically that will keep Caterpillar in the top spot of respected technologies. This will also include management of incoming customer enhancement requests, setting customer expectations, and working closely with key Global Terrain customers on the roadmap and strategic positioning of the Terrain product for the future. The candidate will work with regional sales reps, dealers, and their customers to help maintain Caterpillar’s large Terrain uptake by customers around the world as well as work on the next generation of Terrain products. Additional responsibilities of this role will be to assist in the preparation and delivery of technical sales presentations and demos to dealers and their customers A strong focus on commercial support to dealers and the regional teams. This role will work closely with internal commercial reps, customers and dealers in guiding and steering the product direction in relation to commercial requirements.


Job Duties:

  • Provide product subject matter expertise for the Terrain product line.

  • Provide Key Customer Tech Account Management on the Terrain product line.

  • Meeting aggressive timelines for milestones in the NPI Process.

  • Provide sales forecasts and pricing of products as they are released to the field.

  • Support regular sales planning processes.

  • Develop campaigns to further sales of Terrain.

  • Assist with dealer-led opportunities.

  • Assist in preparing Responses to RFPs.

  • Provide review and feedback on training materials.

  • Provide sales training to sales reps and their dealers.

  • Support events & customer sales visits.

  • Accountable for sales targets by region for the Terrain product.

  • Responsible for NPI deliverables involving all Terrain products.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Mining Engineering.

10 years of experience in open-pit mining using technology products.

Top Candidates will also have:

Experience with mining processes in particular grade control and material management.

High-level Understanding of IP networks, radio communications, and onboard machine technology systems.

Ability to work in remote mining areas.

Excellent PC and IT skills.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Account management skills.

Sales and presentation experience.

Ability to communicate clearly with customers to explain in the product in a technical manner during sales presentations.

Caterpillar dealer experience.

Training material development and delivery experience.

Experience with operational technology systems.

Fleet management systems.

HP GPS in mining.

Asset health systems and Ore Control experience.

Business analytics report writing skills (e.g. Business Objects, Power BI, etc)

Familiarity and/or experience with one or more of the following systems: MineStar Fleet, Modular Mining, JigSaw-Leica, Wenco.


Additional information:

The location for this position is Denver, CO, or remote.

Domestic relocation assistance is not available.

This position may require 50% travel.

Starting salary:  $111,000 plus bonus.
