The primary responsibility of this position is to serve as the trusted advisor for the assigned supply base through the following functional responsibilities: Assessing potential suppliers via on-site Quality, Cost, Logistics, Development, Management (QCLDM) audits, continuously reviewing supplier capacity and quality, assuring production readiness. Supplier Performance management. Collaborate with suppliers to assure proper process control standards are in place and continuously monitor key manufacturing processes for improvement opportunities.
To provide technical expertise and leadership to supply base in the execution of supplier evaluation and selection, and leading a robust supplier development plan to maximizing Quality, Cost, Logistics, Delivery, and Management (QCLDM), and to ensure that a supplier is able to meet corporate and business unit requirements for customer requirements for quality, cost, and delivery of purchased material.
Fully understanding market and supply base.
Strategic sourcing mindset, creating and executing supplier development plan. Act as QCLDM champion for suppliers development & performance management and assure to meet qualified supply network strategies.
Leading goal setup and supplier performance management on key areas of quality/delivery/cost and supplier continuous improvement. Participate in the development of Supplier metrics and the metrics management regularly. Manages supplier’s project plans and activities to ensure the product meets Caterpillar expectations.
Periodically having on site audit at supplier for key processes to ensure stable process control.
Be responsible for supplier capacity planning to meet business growth.
Supports and participates in Caterpillar Lean initiatives with facilities, category teams, and suppliers. Works with suppliers to reduce waste and improve supplier process capability and efficiency.
Be skilled at using Cat systems and cost tools such as SCC, CICT system, Should Cost Model and collaborate supplier to achieve best cost.
Keep communication with Cat Global Commodity teams, focus on and know about the commodity trends.
Bachelor’s degree or above.
3 + years of work experiences in machinery industry.
Good human relation/communication skills as well as possess the potential for leadership is required to develop a cooperative working relationships with others both inside and outside of Caterpillar.
Knowledge of the tools and methodology of APQP, Should cost model, LPP, Fact pack etc.
Be honest and integrity, brave to take responsibility, work hard and be good at teamwork.
6 Sigma methodology, Purchasing, Quality or Engineering related certification is highly desirable.
Good communication in English is required, GET-4 or above/Pass TOEIC.
