As the Cybersecurity Product Manager, you will be responsible for developing security strategies and then in execution, ensuring security is embedded into Caterpillar’s increasing connected smart product footprint.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Product Cybersecurity Owner - Supports business with development of processes and procedures relating to cybersecurity best practices. Helps business remediate findings and vulnerabilities that result from Global Information Systems (GIS) security Assessments, 3rd party assessments or customer assessments. 

  • Product Cybersecurity Champion - Works with executive leaders, engineers, and product managers, across the E&T organization through tools, processes, and education to successfully drive adoption of the “secure by design” methodology. Provides business with cybersecurity awareness training, as needed. This role ensures timely and accurate updates to the connected product catalog.  The Cybersecurity Product Manager will manage scheduling and execution of EP2:30 activities, including preparation for legal review. 

  • Voice of and to the Customer - Engages directly with the customer to understand their unique perspectives on cybersecurity in relation to their use case, our products, and digital services.  Assists in addressing their questions and concerns around cybersecurity. Provides valuable customer feedback to our product development teams for product improvement considerations. Candidate will assist business with answering inbound 3rd party risk assessments from customers. 

  • Technical Leadership - The technical focal for providing cybersecurity consulting to product teams across E&T. Assisting product engineering teams to navigate enterprise security policy, procedures and directives that ensure security is properly integrated into the product development lifecycle. Helps business perform self-testing to ensure security controls are effective. 

  • Liaison to GIS Security - Provide a liaison between E&T engineering leadership, product managers and the appropriate GIS Security functional teams that support product cybersecurity: 

    • Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC Team) 

    • Threat, Attack and Penetration Services (TAPS Team) 

    • Computer Security Incident Response (CSIRT Team)  

    • Connected Asset and Application Security Engineering (CAASE Team) 

    • Third-party cybersecurity vendors  

  • Metrics Reporting - Reports on cybersecurity metrics to E&T executive leadership, business unit stakeholders and GIS Security (GIS Security reports cybersecurity metrics to the EO- quarterly). Helps business track/monitor progress towards reducing cybersecurity risk.  

Basic Qualifications:

  • CISSP Certification (ISC2)

  • Cloud Experience such as AWS and Azure

  • Previous cybersecurity or related experience

  • Experience in risk management and relevant security assessments

  • High level of curiosity and investigative mindset with attention to detail

  • Ability to communicate technical information effectively with team members and others in work group, as well as commercial employees in other units, customers, and suppliers

  Top Candidates Will Also Have:

  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in Cybersecurity or related discipline

  • 1-3 years in industrial controls engineering or familiarity with Purdue Model for securing industrial controls

  • GICSP certification

  • Solid project management skills with the ability to deliver on time and on plan.

  • Passion for collaboration and ability to align multiple stakeholders

  • Sound leadership skills with the ability to take initiative and drive creative ideas forward.

  • Ability to thrive and adapt in a high growth, rapidly changing environment

  • A sense of urgency balanced with a strong commitment to quality

  • The ability to work/lead multiple projects simultaneously and to make sound priority decisions

Travel:

  • Up to 15%
