The Resource Industries Operations and Products (RIOP) Talent Development Consultant is responsible for the overall capability of the organization by improving the performance of its employees through leading the business unit's organizational development, leadership development, people development and talent management around the globe.
Job Duties / Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Responsible for developing and implementing organizational effectiveness, engagement, leadership development and talent management strategies. Position should identify and help develop plans that allow strategic, tactical, and practical integration in the areas of organizational effectiveness, change management, talent management, and learning & development.
Develops and provides leadership, counsel and education in areas such as: team/work group interactions & dynamics, individual leadership development planning and general development planning input, new supervisor coaching and development, high performance work environment, cultural change initiatives, and employee/career development. Be a trusted advisor to Org/Talent Development Division HR Manager and Business Unit overall leadership.
Facilitates development and delivery of employee development activities. Helps to clarify, measure, and positively influence consistent behaviors needed to achieve desired business initiatives and results.
Manage divisional Employee Insights (EI) process. Collaborate with the HRBPs for the successful administration of divisional Employee Insights Survey. Provide direction and monitor divisional EI action planning process. Coach supervisors/managers on individual action planning items. Develop/align divisional learning and development activities to support EI action items.
Oversee divisional recognition efforts and programs.
Responsible for budgeting, financial matters and metrics related to development and learning within the business unit including the accumulation, monitoring, and forecasting of learning costs.
Partner with the COE, Division/Business Unit process owners, and RI Segment to ensure effective implementation of Enterprise required learning and learning associated with implementation of global processes. Measure effectiveness of development and learning activities.
Works with HR Business Partners to manage monthly divisional People processes and use of key tools and processes within Business Unit/Division(s).
The position's primary customers are internal. Typical internal customers include leadership (including Vice President and Department Managers) and various contacts in multiple geographic areas. The position is challenged to carefully evaluate problems and review a large number of possible solutions before selecting one option. Problems may be complex and can require the incumbent to develop solutions. The incumbent sets priorities and establishes a work plan in order to complete broadly defined assignments and achieve organizational and leadership objectives.
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Business
9+ years’ experience in practical human resources assignments
Top Candidates will also have:
Knowledge of various Caterpillar personnel and/or benefits policies and programs
Familiarity with Caterpillar functional areas, policies and procedures
Strong interpersonal skills dealing with sensitive issues
Ability to develop others, or persuade others inside and outside the department
The primary location for this position is Peoria, IL
Domestic relocation assistance is available
