Contract: Permanent

Location: European Facility

Hours: Full-Time (37.5 hours)

Caterpillar is hiring a Product Application Specialist ! In this role, you will consult with dealers as a recognized expert in remote control and advanced technologies. Leverages outstanding technology application and product knowledge to improve technology implementations, closure rates, increase customer loyalty, and improve sales force effectiveness. This is a field-based assignment for an experienced, individual contributor where assignments are complex, challenging and lend themselves to strategic decisions.

Job Duties:
Training:

  • Increase dealer knowledge of Cat Command and its' application.

  • Lead territory participation in local or regional technical and sales training, contribute local inputs to development of training programs, and deliver training regionally or locally. 

  • Training content will include application training specific for Cat Command, and technical training for implementations.  

Customer Value Chain:  

  • Deliver business plan achievement by providing product application expertise at point of sale.  

  • Customer consultation will be provided including application, production, and technical deployment to improve value recognition from Cat Command.  

  • Consultation may include training of customer personnel in areas of expertise mentioned, or coordination of formal training, such as operator or service maintenance training.  

  • As a result, customers will recognize the maximum value in designed product features.  

Customer Job-site:  

  • Lead increased application expertise by identifying and documenting job/application profiles based on field observation working with customers.  

  • Profiles will include fleet with configurations, job parameters, and value chain definition.

  • Individuals in this position must understand and keep current on customer/dealer market and needs and understand how and why decisions are made within their work group and organization.  

  • They are responsible for applying those decisions to support and develop product sales, dealer effectiveness, overall segment growth, NPI process, process improvement, sales management process improvement, etc.  

  • Incumbents apply their knowledge of products, technology, industry, etc., in support of Caterpillar, dealer and customer expectations and needs and contribute to strategic planning.  

  • Incumbents may provide direction to less experienced personnel.  

  • Incumbents, along with their manager, will direct their development and continual learning through experience and staying abreast of technology changes.  

  • Key learning comes from continued experience in the assigned industry, enhancing communication and people relationship skills, improving problem solving and analysis ability, building and using business skills, enhancing use of Caterpillar systems, and developing leadership abilities.

  • Incumbents must stay abreast of industry and technology changes and relate those changes to Caterpillar, dealer, and customer needs.

Background/Experience:

  • Candidate requires expert knowledge of key CI company products, product applications and how they work in unison with Cat Command.  

  • This position requires a college or university degree or equivalent experience.

  • Incumbent usually have had 6 to 8 years prior experience in field assignments and has demonstrated the ability to work independently, to communicate effectively and to influence others in the work group, dealer personnel and customers.

  • Incumbent will have demonstrated the ability to work on larger scale, more complex assignments and provide direction to lower-level reps on project assignments.

This position is ideally located in a Caterpillar European facility/office . However, remote work is possible within the US. Relocation assistance is not provided. ISE assignment is not available.
