Description

To provide leadership, mentoring and direction to agency, hourly, salaried and management personnel engaged in visualization and engineering activities related to visualization, CGI, AR/VR, animation, photorealistic rendering, modeling, basic design, and drafting.

Job Duties

Reporting to this position are various levels of artists, designers, and technicians.

Primary accountabilities of this position include but not limited to the day-to-day management of resources to projects, maintaining an environment in which the organization under the incumbent leadership can accomplish work effectively and efficiently. In this position, incumbent will have the responsibility to supervise individuals who perform design and detailing work.

The incumbent needs to coach and facilitate the development of the work group to develop collaborative relationships among themselves, with internal customers, suppliers, and other cross functional groups to ensure goals are achieved. Incumbent needs a breadth of knowledge and experience including products, processes, design, procedures, and policies. This role requires a focus on product, process, and employee development. Key responsibilities include creating and maintaining an organizational climate/culture which encourages innovation, collaboration, excitement/commitment and a sense of urgency toward business success; involving and integrating key stakeholders to insure project success; communicating business strategy, goals, and direction; and continuous development of individuals and the organization.

To make decisions, this position will work with immediate work group or project team, suppliers, and internal customers. Decisions will affect the quality, cost, and timeliness of the models and drawings that are produced for customers.

Incumbent will interact with customers from diverse technical and cultural backgrounds from numerous internal business units. Project scope will vary from detailing of components and assemblies to basic and intermediate design activities. This position will require incumbent to broaden business understanding. Position requires skills for coaching and leading people. This role requires that the incumbent increases understanding of product technology and process and the customers’ business and needs.

Basic Qualifications

Requires a technical degree and 4 years of previous experience or the equivalent of 6 years minimum industry work experience.

Top Candidates will also have

Knowledge of visualization, ar/vr experiences, animations, photorealistic rendering, product design, process design, engineering standards, and customer relations are needed. Excellent human relations and communications skills are necessary.

The location for this position is Rapid City, SD.

Domestic relocation assistance is available for this position.

This position may require up to 10% travel.
