Job Description:


This position is responsible for maintaining and repairing the demonstration and learning center fleet and support equipment ensuring they are in proper working order.


  • This position is responsible for maintaining and repairing the demonstration and learning center fleet and support equipment ensuring they are in proper working order.

  • The incumbent is responsible for training facility staff on equipment systems, fleet maintenance, and repairs. The individual will also assist in pre-production machine serviceability evaluations, in support of New Product Introduction programs.

  • In addition, this role has assembly & disassembly responsibilities, loading and unloading responsibilities of machines upon arrival/departure. As well as maintaining records of equipment, attachments, and parts. 

  • The incumbent will also share responsibility for cleaning the service bay areas and adhering to Contamination Control Guidelines in support of delivering world-class service to our customers and dealers.

  • Additional responsibilities include performing work to complete service letters on the Cat equipment fleet and building relationships with the product groups to maintain their support of the Tinaja Hills facility and fleet.

  • Limited travel required (Less than 5% of working time).

Basic Qualifications:

  • Incumbent must possess an Associates Degree or equivalent work related experience.

  • 2 plus years as a service technician with experience in the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of heavy mobile equipment.

  • Basic heavy equipment operation experience is required, for safely loading and unloading equipment, and moving machines around the facility.

Top Candidates Will Also Have:

  • Incumbent must have a working knowledge of; SIS web to access parts/repair manuals and other service-related information.

  • The incumbent must be a certified welder for fabrication and have AC repair certification for heavy equipment.

  • Excellent; teamwork, communication (both written and verbal) and computer skills (various software packages) are a must.

  • The incumbent is required to use the Caterpillar Electronic Technician software to diagnose machine problems, calibrate machine systems and flashing software.

  • The incumbent must have the ability to read and understand electrical and hydraulic schematics for troubleshooting and repairs.

  • Must possess the ability to maintain and support Prime Power Generators.

  • The ability to work within a group or as an individual with self-motivation is also desirable.
