The embedded software engineer role on the Short-range Wireless Systems team involves design activities, as well as verification and validation activities as it pertains to onboard machine short-range wireless systems using Bluetooth and RF ID technology. The candidate should expect to spend time gathering and documenting requirements with an extended team, performing subsystem lab testing, and testing machine features at the proving grounds verifying designs.

Job Duties

The engineer will work within an immediate team of 5-6 engineers to complete digital ecosystem design activities for offboard internal & external process partner consumption. This will include creating detailed design and test documentation with internal development teams and suppliers.

System engineering responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Gather requirements from internal customers, process partners, and regulatory teams

Create and manage detailed design documentation (system, hardware, software)

Develop system architecture

Participate in use case development

Support systems integration activities

Participate or support EMC system level tests

Travel to proving grounds or customer sites for test support when needed

Basic Qualifications

BS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science

Top Candidates will also have

Excellent written and verbal communication and the ability to collaborate with global teams

Familiarity with Agile development practices and methodologies

2+ years of experience creating and managing requirements & detailed design documentation

1+ year of experience with CAN/J1939 communication

1+ year of experience with Bluetooth technology

1+ year of experience with RF ID technology

1+ year of experience with machine diagnostics and associated tools

Ability to debug in C/C++ developer environments

The location for this position is Mossville, IL

Domestic relocation assistance is available for this position. There are no global relocation or packages offered for this role.

This position may require less than 10% travel
