We are looking for a dynamic, organized self-starter to join our Product Support and Logistics Division as a  Supply Chain Planning Engineer  supporting our business.    

The  Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD)  is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. In PSLD, as within all of Caterpillar, our priority is our customers and helping them build a better world. We touch nearly every element of the services value stream from procurement to design and manufacturing to distribution. PSLD is responsible for Aftermarket Parts Distribution of Cat Parts, Integrated Logistics, segment Procurement and the design and manufacture of Wear & Maintenance Components, e.g., Steel Products (Undercarriage and GET) and Specialty Products (Seals, Tubes & Hardware, Hose & Couplings, Fluids and Filters).

In this Supply Chain Planning Engineer role for the Manufacturing Parts Node network (MPN) you will be responsible for learning, leveraging and deploying Lean methodology to drive local and global improvement in supply chain performance, inventory turns and our order-to-delivery results.
 

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead local and global Lean events delivering supply chain process improvement resulting in increased value to our customer
  • Extract, analyze and utilize data warehouse information with the intent to make or impact business decisions
  • Work effectively across global, diverse, multi-functional teams to develop lean material, process and data flows
  • Support continued system implementations, enhancements, and automation efforts
  • Performing work to achieve corporate supply chain performance targets focused on inventory reduction, increased inventory turns and improved order-to-delivery results

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 3+ years of Supply Chain related experience in Operations, Transportation, Procurement, or Industrial Engineering
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Experience and knowledge of Lean concepts and tools
  • Ability to design and deploy lean solutions in a highly productive environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to solve complex problems
  • Strong collaborative, interpersonal and negotiation skills to drive common supply chain processes across multiple departments within a business division
     

Top Candidates Will Also Have:

  • Previous experience as a Supply Chain Planning Analyst or Engineer
  • Previous experience using common supply chain planning systems
  • APICS CSCP or equivalent certification
  • Master’s Degree
  • Experience in the development and deployment of Supply Chain processes
