As the Resource Industries Segment Director of Finance at Caterpillar, you will have the opportunity to develop essential business information and insights to provide counsel to key management. This includes leading a team to coordinate financial planning and analysis activities across the divisions of each segment. In addition, you will be a key coordinator in describing the financial condition of the segment you support.

Reporting to the Director of Finance are staff responsible for accounting and financial reporting, business analysis and business support. In addition, this role offers exposure opportunities to key senior leaders and the opportunity to quickly grow a global network.

Resource Industries Segment:
The Resource Industries (RI) segment is primarily responsible for supporting customers using machinery in mining, heavy construction and quarry and aggregates. With a customer-back approach, the segment is delivering ongoing customer value through holistic site solutions, leadership in semi-autonomous and autonomous technology, and innovative energy solutions.

What You Will Do:

  • Present research and analysis findings, competitor analysis, financial forecasts and key insights to the senior management, and assisting them in making corporate and strategic decisions.
  • Work closely with top management and other key stakeholders to prepare annual budgets and formulate strategic plans to meet business objectives.
  • Maintain current knowledge of organizational policies and procedures providing guidance to others in the business.
  • Consolidate and forecast accountable results for the divisions within the segment.
  • Liaise between Corporate Accounting and the division CFO teams.
  • Coordinate segment board reporting.
  • Manage RBM and Annual Business Planning for the segment.
  • Lead segment metric reporting and strategic imperatives.
  • Support Admin business unit budgeting and service charge coordination.
  • Assist with special projects.

What You Have:

  • Expert knowledge of business concepts, tools, and processes that are needed for making sound decisions in the context of the company's business; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.

Finance and Accounting:

  • Expert knowledge of finance and accounting practices, financial analysis, and reporting; ability to apply finance knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.

Organizational Governance:

  • Extensive knowledge of the processes, customs, policies, and rules affecting the way the organization is administered and controlled; ability to ensure compliance with governance guidelines and policies.

Strategic Thinking:

  • Extensive knowledge of the importance of "big picture" thinking and planning; ability to apply organizational acumen and competitiveness to identify and maintain focus on key success factors for the organization.

Leadership:

  • Extensive knowledge of leadership practices and processes; ability to use strategies and skills to enlist others in setting, embracing and achieving objectives while having a long-term perspective of the future state of things and how to get there.

Financial Analysis:

  • Expert knowledge of tools and approaches of financial analysis; ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from financial and numerical material.

Financial Forecasting and Modeling:

  • Extensive knowledge of processes, tools and techniques of financial forecasting and modeling; ability to explore and evaluate alternative financial scenarios and results.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s level degree in Accounting or related field.
  • Progressive finance and accounting experience including extensive supervisory experience.

Additional Details:

  • This role is on-site, five days a week.
  • Location: This role is based out of Headquarters Office in Irving, TX. Relocation is offered for this role.

  • This position is eligible for stock or other equity grants pursuant to Caterpillar’s long-term incentive plan.

Summary Pay Range:

$189,080.00 - $283,630.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
